Story
This is Cali! She is a Great Dane mix, our best guess is that she is mixed with Bernese Mountain Dog. She is great with kids & loves people in general. She is the sweetest, most gentle giant. She loves getting pets & attention, she would be a lapdog if she could. She is an outdoor dog, she gets scared being inside or in any small spaces (she can tolerate it but does not like). She has lived mostly on large properties with no fences and has no trouble staying near the house. She does wander & guard the house/property, but is always there at night & never had a problem with her running away. She is a good guard dog, lets you know if someone is entering the property (loud, deep, scary sounding bark), but calms down once she knows her people are okay with the visitors. She is also great at keeping wildlife away, she's kept coyotes, fox, deer, racoons, etc. away from our yard and I've even seen her tree a bear a few times. She needs a home that has lots of love to give her & lots of land!

Story
This is Lucy, our 4-1/2 yr old Great Dane. We purchase Lucy from Barclay Ranch in Fresno at 12 weeks old and she instantly bonded with our family. Our children regularly rough house with her, stealing toys from her mouth without negative reactions. She plays hide and seek with our 5 year old and snuggles all three kids at once. At one year old, Lucy received 3 weeks of in-residence training where she learned basic commands along with leash training. Our struggle is that she guards her people fiercely. When other adults come to our home there is the occasional nip at strangers, and other dogs are at risk for her to attack and overpower them. We cannot risk Lucy forcing her way out the door past our kids as she has had multiple run-ins with others walking their dogs past our home. With another child on the way, we are looking to rehome Lucy with someone who has the time and energy to give her the attention she needs to calm the reactivity.

Story
*** COURTESY POST *** DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER *** Rescue Plea for Scruffy the Great Dane Scruffy, a gentle 5-year-old Great Dane with charming white-tipped toes, urgently needs a new home due to unexpected housing changes. This sweet, unaltered boy is current on all vaccinations through South Davis Vet and is truly a wonderful companion. Scruffy has been an indoor dog his whole life, is fully potty-trained, and crate-trained, making him a perfect fit for an experienced dog-loving household. Although Scruffy might bark when meeting new people, he quickly warms up and turns into a big cuddle bug who craves affection from everyone. He gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family, soaking up all the love he deserves. Please help us find a safe, loving home for Scruffy—this gentle giant doesn’t deserve to face uncertainty! If you can help or know someone who can, please reach out to Jesus at 707-592-6282 or email jesuse_caves@hotmail.com. Let’s work together to give Scruffy the second chance he deserves. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
