My Adoption Fee is Waived!Meet Duke, our lovable Great Dane mix with a heart as big as his paws! Duke is a fun-loving, doofy boy who brings joy and laughter wherever he goes.  He adores giving and receiving affection.  Despite his size, Duke is impressively easy to walk on a leash. Duke is currently in foster care.  He loves both of the adults in the household equally and is excited to get attention from either.  We haven’t seen him around kids, but due to his size and exuberance we think he’d knock little ones down.  He’s a leaner!  Once he gives his initial greetings he loves to lean on you to show his affection.  He lives with 4 other dogs and gets along fine with everyone.  The smallest dog in his foster home is 40 pounds and the two of them love to wrestle and play chase.  No kitties for Duke, they are too fun to chase.Duke has good manners in his foster home and is a medium energy guy.  Once he has some time in the morning to play and get his energy out, he’s ready for naps.  He’s very receptive to verbal correction and wants to please his people.  He has not had any potty accidents in his foster home.  We always suggest close monitoring and putting new dogs on a potty schedule until they acclimate to their new environment to make sure they are set up for success.  Duke was recently diagnosed with a condition called megaesophagus.  If you aren`t familiar with this condition there`s lots of info available with a quick web search, but in general he needs to be fed vertically in a Bailey chair.  Duke is doing great with his new Bailey chair and he`s on one inexpensive medicine.  His condition is likely lifelong.  If you’re looking for a gentle giant who will fill your life with love and laughter, Duke is your boy. Come meet Duke and let him show you how wonderful life with a big, sweet, and goofy friend can be!Check out Duke with his doggy foster sister:Duke is in foster care.  If you`re interested in meeting him please contact his foster mom at lori.woodward@comcast.net

Story
Appy is a wonderful dog. I have had her since a puppy. She is very playful even at 10 years old. She still loves her zoomies! She was the runt of her litter and never made it past 105lbs. Which is why I believe she’s never had any health issues. She has always been free fed. She is great on walks. Great with other animals especially the smaller breeds. Cats are good for her once introduced as part of the family. She uses a dog door and always lets herself out. Hasn’t had any health issues accident in the house in like 8 years probably. She still has a couple years left but unfortunately moving and divorce is not going to allow me to keep her any longer.

Story
90 pounds 2 1/2 years old Knows basic commands Neutered Microchipped Great with kids Great guard dog To ensure his happiness and comfort, this dog needs to be the only pet in the household. He bonds strongly with his owner and enjoys being the sole focus of attention. Rehoming him because we are expecting another baby. Can’t provide the proper care and attention for him. This dog is best suited for a home with plenty of outdoor space. He does not like to be indoors

Story
This is Lucy, our 4-1/2 yr old Great Dane. We purchase Lucy from Barclay Ranch in Fresno at 12 weeks old and she instantly bonded with our family. Our children regularly rough house with her, stealing toys from her mouth without negative reactions. She plays hide and seek with our 5 year old and snuggles all three kids at once. At one year old, Lucy received 3 weeks of in-residence training where she learned basic commands along with leash training. Our struggle is that she guards her people fiercely. When other adults come to our home there is the occasional nip at strangers, and other dogs are at risk for her to attack and overpower them. We cannot risk Lucy forcing her way out the door past our kids as she has had multiple run-ins with others walking their dogs past our home. With another child on the way, we are looking to rehome Lucy with someone who has the time and energy to give her the attention she needs to calm the reactivity.
