Story
Fiona is a beautiful Great Dane mix. She weighs about 115 pounds and her estimated DOB is 01/01/2022. Don't be intimidated by her size because she is a big sweetheart! Fiona knows a few tricks too; like off, sit, down, leave it, and shake! She will put her head right on your lap when she wants some scratches. Fiona is a big, sweet girl looking for her forever home with someone who can provide her plenty of love and affection...and space! She gets along with most dogs. Fiona was generously sponsored by Elizabeth Waldrum during our Reigning Cats and Dogs event. Thank you, Elizabeth Waldrum, for sponsoring Fiona! Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Story
Lumpy is a great dog. She is sweet and loyal. She unfortunately likes to get out of my 4ft fence and bark at the neighbors. Thats scary to people when youre 125lbs. Ive make the fence higher but she finds the short sided and goes over. I work during the day and she gets lonely, then goes looking for friends. She needs a 6foot or taller fence to be able to stay out during the day. I done have the means to build another fence. And i cant keep paying the tickets for her getting out. She will be 2 years old the end of January. She is fixed, vaccinated, stomach tacked and loves walks. She would likely not be good with small livestock such as rabbits and chickens. We have a raccoon and she is friends with him. Loves the cats but i think she would eat smaller prey animals.

Story
Spot isn't dreaming of a white Christmas. He is dreaming of a family of his very own to wake up with Christmas morning. Spot has spent 1/3 of his life with us and without good reason. His great qualities are too numerous to list but a few of them are that he is good natured, athletic, fun-loving, great with people big and small, is a lover of long walks and car rides. He has an engaging personality and a smile that will light up a room. He loves to play outside, and his favorite toy is a Jolly Ball. He will thrive in a family with plenty of exercise and lots of love. He loves to play in the exercise pen with the big Jolly ball. He walks well on a leash and LOVES his long walks on the trails. Spot is just under 3 years old and is possibly a Great Dane mix weighing about 76 pounds. He is a great boy that has been with us for far too long. He deserves to spend the holidays as a loved member of a new family. Please consider giving Spot his Christmas wish. He will give lots of love in return. You can apply on line at www.hsvawl.org by completing the Adoption Application on the home page.December 10, 2024, 5:59 am
