Story
Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  Lady Mae looks to be about five-years-old, came to us as a stray very emaciated & only weighed 58 lbs.  Now closer to 70 lbs.  Lady Mae is super sweet BUT she will be best in a home with no other dogs and no children and an EXPERIENCED LARGE WORKING DOG OWNER.  Lady Mae was adopted and started out ok.  As she settled in she started resource guarding with the other 50 lb dog and then also the people - reacting over food, toys, attention.  We do not see this behavior in the Shelter but, it could be that once she settled in and decided that home was HERS, her behavior shifted.  This is why we say she needs an owner experienced at handling/changing this type of behavior as she is the sweetest thing in the world here in the Shelter and was sweet in that home except for the resource guarding issue.  She loves to do the DANE LEAN on you.     DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. If we do not receive a timely response we simply move on to another applicant.   To learn more about us, visit our Website at: http://www.elmorehumane.org;  Phone: (334) 567-3377 Fax: (334) 567-8774 E-mail: hselco@bellsouth.net February 17, 2025, 2:28 pm

Story
This sweet dog is an owner surrender. The current family could not afford to keep him and found it difficult to feed him. We naturally offered to help but they were also having to move which new home would not allow dogs. Especially a big one! Opie is an easy dog, very sweet , easy disposition ! He is a mix of lab and Dane. He is happy in nature and will be a great dog for any family. RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please go to: saveapreciouspaw@gmail.com
