Adoptable animals at VPAC are brought in through Homewood Animal Control them held for 10 days for an owner to claim. After that the animals are updated on vaccines and given fecal exams, and heartworm tests. The adoption fee also covers the cost of spaying/neutering services which we provide to the animal at 6 months of age or prior to their adoption.

Meet Blue! This handsome guy is about 95 pounds at 7 months old. He's still got some growing to do. He is a sweet, happy guy who wants to be with his people as much as possible. He will thrive in a home dedicated to helping him continue his training with positive reinforcement and plenty of exercise. He would love a larger doggie sibling or weekly daycare/play dates to keep him from getting bored. He doesn't mind cats. Blue is very much still a puppy and could accidentally knock over young children and smaller dogs with his playfulness. Children over 14 years old preferred. A home with prior Great Dane experience would be ideal, but not mandatory. He is house trained and crate trained. Blue is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. Friends of Rescue requires a home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

He is a very sweet dog. He is well trained to be a house dog. He also will sit and wait for permission before he starts to eat. he absolutely loves to cuddle, and he loves to lay his head in your lap. He likes to be taken outside for walks. He does really good traveling he likes to ride in the car and go to the park. he is good with all animals and kids , not a mean bone in his body. due to my work schedule and constantly having to travel, I’m not able to give him the time and attention he needs. I want him to find a good home where he can be kept in the house with somebody that has more time on their hands for him.
