Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO. APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED AND ARE THE FIRST STEP. PLEASE READ THE ADOPTION PROCESS. Hello Families! I am so excited that you are reading about me, they call me Snickers. I just turned 2 years old and I weigh about 50 pounds. I am super sweet and will cuddle with you all the time if you let me. I get so excited when my people come home and I know I’m going to get loved on. My previous family gave me up because I had to spend 14 hours a day in a crate. I grew up with some older kids, and they ended up moving on to college and mom worked 12 hour shifts. I wasn’t very good at holding it for 14 hours and had some accidents, so I was confined to the crate so I would I hold it. I am doing well at my foster home, I had a couple of accidents at first, but I’m catching onto the routine. If you adopt me, you’d have to, pay attention until I learn the new schedule, but then I would be fine. I am a quick learner. I will be neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea prevention, and I come with an adoption kit from Petsmart that has a free bag of food, free vet visit, and lots of coupons. My adoption fee is $500. If you are interested in adopting me, please send an email to petadopt@hotmail.com for an application. I really hope I get to meet you soon..

Story
December 22nd 2019 was her birthday. She is now nearing 4 years old. We picked her for her sassiness & slender beautiful face & color. She's crate trained & very smart! She sits, lays, mostly-stays, gives "paw" on-command, & will jump to catch treats! She is potty trained, & is reasonable on a leash, though she does pull still. She's travelled by car, though wanders a good bit. We usually have her crate setup in the back for long trips, as her crate is her 'safe space.' She is a playful, energetic, sorta vocal, & very lovey dog for her owner(s). Onto her restrictions. We feel she would fit much, much better into a home that does not have kids or other animals; whose owner(s) only take her out under limited circumstances (ideally have enclosed backyard). Bella is not necessarily aggressive, she is nervous under circumstances she deems uncomfortable and can lash out, up-to a quick bite. It saddens us, but w/ a new baby and kids, no-go. More info on request, character limitation is short.

ADOPT: COTTON LOCATION: FERNANDINA BEACH, FL 32034 Florida or Georgia residents WEBSITE: www.viprescue.org DOG NAME: Cotton AGE: estimated 4 yrs old DOG BREED: STANDARD POODLE DOG WEIGHT: 50 lbs GENDER: Female HOUSE TRAINED: YES LOCATION: FERNANDINA BEACH, FL GOOD With other DOGS: YES COLOR: white 6 FT FENCED YARD REQUIRED FL or GA Residents Only MEET COTTON! Cotton is a beautiful calm sweet white female Standard Poodle weighing about 50 lbs. She is very devoted and makes a great companion as she follows your every move. She wants to be a part of all your activities and be next to you wherever life takes you. COTTON likes people, kids, and is dog-friendly. COTTON would love to be the center of your universe and will adore you! Cotton loves toys and playing fetch, so please lots of squishy toys! COTTON enjoys frequent walks and has excellent leash manners. She has excellent recall; she sits nicely and aims to please. She is house-trained and loves to run, romp, and do zoomies in her fenced yard. Some of her skills include a master counter surfer typical of the breed. She is skilled at opening doors, drawers, and lower cabinets scavenging for food when you leave. She loves trash if you leave it accessible when you leave. She does not ruin anything in your home or chew anything – except food, and she will happily to eat anything you feed her. COTTON is well mannered, has mastered basic obedience, and is a very happy girl just waiting for that special person(s) to come along to complete her life. She would prefer not to be left at home much and hopes that you are retired or work from home. COTTON loves to go places, ride in the car, and hang out with you wherever you go. Take her to dinner, take her shopping, take her in your RV, just take her! She will happily snuggle with you at night, and lay her head on your chest waiting for an ear rub. She loves car rides and is great on long trips. In her foster home, we are not crating her, however she has a crate with an open door she frequently snoozes in. We don’t not crate her when we leave because she does not like that and barks non-stop if we leave her crated. She does fine when you are gone, provided you leave her within an area with no access to food & trash and another dog to comfort her. COTTON is well socialized, and well-mannered in social situations. She will bark at intruders and let you know if some is at your door! Once reassured, she welcomes guests, human and dogs, with open arms to your home. She is the perfect 10+. COTTON came to VIP Rescue from a lady who found her aimlessly walking down a dirt road at 30 lbs. back in January. We have looked for her owner with no success. She was in rough shape, sick, and severely neglected. After not finding her owner, she was brought to VIP Rescue. She has had bilateral entropion surgery, a dental, has been spayed, and allergy tested. She is now ready to find her perfect home! She has been an outstanding houseguest at her foster home and frolicks with the other poodles here. COTTON is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped. She likes walks 2-3 times a day and playing in the fenced yard. She requires frequent brushing and monthly grooming which costs $150-$200. She is fed prescription food and a home cooked diet as she had GI issues. We have figured out her diet and she no longer experiences GI issues if you follow the protocol of food and supplements – we will explain. She has been to an array of veterinarians and specialists at UF Small Animal Hospital for her recovery. Preference will be given to those adopters with Standard Poodle experience. COTTON can offer you her unconditional love, loyalty, and affection. She is a great dog, and someone is going to hit the jackpot with this amazingly well-adjusted attentive girl! You must have a 6-foot fence to adopt Cotton, as she loves to chase anything that moves outside. We have not had her cat tested, but to be safe a cat is probably not a good idea. COTTON is located in FERNANDINA BEACH, FL. You must travel to FERNANDINA BEACH to meet COTTON and bring any other pets and residents you have for the meeting. If you would like more information on COTTON or to be considered for adoption, you must complete an adoption application at www.viprescue.org. Our volunteer will contact you once your application is approved. We are unable to respond to your emails and messages without you first completing an adoption application. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida or GA resident and homeowner, be at least 25 years of age to adopt. A fenced yard is required and not negotiable. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. This breed typically lives 12-15 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pets’ estimated lifespan. If you want more info or would like to meet COTTON, please complete an adoption application at www.viprescue.org ADOPTION DONATION: $400 All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio on the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pets needs. Thank you for thinking rescue!
