Meet Cooper! Cooper is a 1-year-old, 50 lb Goldendoodle with a heart as big as his sweet eyes. Cooper, unlike a lot of rescue dogs, has actually had a pretty good life until he ended up in a small, overcrowded shelter in Texas. Cooper was relinquished to the shelter by his owner of the last year, because the human was psychically disabled and Cooper was too much for him to handle. He is a 1 year old Goldendoodle, so naturally Cooper has some energy!
Cooper is good with all other dogs he has met, and loves people. He is a very happy, bouncy guy! Per his previous owner, though we have not tested his ourselves, he is good with kids and cats as well.
Cooper deserves a loving family who can offer him the time and energy to play with, exercise, and train a young dog.
Cooper is ready for a fresh start, and he’s looking for a home where he can shower you with affection and share his fun-loving spirit.
We don't know if Cooper has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice.
Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful.
Cooper has been fully vetted and is up to date on his vaccines and neutered.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
