Story
I have two dogs. They can be adopted together or not. They are crate trained, really sweet and would benefit from someone who is home and can love them. They are smart and are used to staying near home as I haven't walked them - though they are trained on a leash. Just want a great home for these two lovable dogs. 6 & 7 years old.

Story
Teddy - 2 year old, 70 lb, Neutered male, Golden Doodle **We adopt our dogs to families within 50 miles of our facility in Malibu, CA. All applications are screened for compatibility with the dog of interest. We might ask for pictures of your home and yard. If you are interested in being considered as a potential adopter, please fill out our online application at: www.ssfdogs.org. Follow the tabs to 'dogs for adoption'. Teddy is an active, smart dog with a few more things to learn. He is affectionate with people and other dogs. He has a lot to learn in regard to obedience but is improving. He is strong and will pull on the leash from time to time so he needs someone with a strong upper body. He also tends to turn quickly and may trip a person walking him so he needs someone with good balance. He came to us from an animal shelter and had no previous training. He has a zest for life and an abundance of enthusiasm which just needs to be contained from time to time. He is eager to learn. He loves his training sessions. We are looking for someone who has the time and the interest in continuing his training so that he can be the best version of himself. He loves to go for walks but occasionally barks at other dogsbecause he wants to meet them, he is not dog aggressive. Teddy is housetrained and well behaved indoors. However, he does not like being home alone. Many dogs who have felt abandoned in the past don't. He barks while home alone so we are looking for someone who is at home most of the time, does not live in an apartment or condo, and has the time to work with him on his leash manners. He has been vaccinated for the basic viruses and is very healthy. It is our policy to invite potential adopters here to our facility to meet the dog first. We may ask for pictures of your home and yard first. If, after that meeting we all feel like it is a compatible match, then we ask the potential adopter to think it over for 24 hours. After that, if it still feels right by all, then a trainer from The Sam Simon Foundation will bring to dog to your home for the final yard check and adoption. There is no adoption fee. If you live within 50 miles of Malibu, CA, and would like more information, please fill out our online application on our website at www.ssfdogs.org. We will contact those that we feel may be compatible. Please check your spam mailbox as some of our emails end up there.

Story
This little fluff ball is Shelby and she is a female, approx 8-9 month old, 19lb Doodle/Maltipoo mix that is the most darling thing ever! Shelby came to us when she was purchased by a young man who got her for his girlfriend at 8 weeks old. Shelby didn't last more than a few months before they both decided that they didn't want her, stating that a puppy is "too much!" The owners were ready to give her away to the first person they could not caring one bit where she went. Thankfully, a friend of theirs reached out to us and asked if we could take her into our foundation and we said yes! Shelby is a VERY mischievous and energetic puppy. In fact, her favorite thing to do is to get and be messy and dirty, so if you have a very pristine home or get a little upset with a dog digging her face through the dirt...then Shelby is not the dog for you. She definitely needs another "young" and "playful" pup in the home. She cannot be an "only" dog. If you do not have another dog we do have a couple of adoptable pups that she is best friends with and one could be adopted with her. We have Toby a 1 year old, male Chiweenie and Tali a 3-4 year old, female, Maltese/Terrier mix. She also needs a home with a safe and secure backyard to run around in. She is not an apt type dog. We are looking for owners that are home most of the day and not gone long hours, along with being puppy savvy. This crazy puppy needs a very relaxed home as she can be naughty with getting into things she is not supposed to and chewing up things shes not supposed to. She is basically ALL puppy x100! We are looking for owners that are very active and home must of the day. Shelby is a breed that needs full grooming every 6 weeks, so potential adopters must be ok with that. Please note that she cannot be crated. Sweet little Shelby is one amazing little puppy that deserves the best home out there! Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Shelby is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Please contact us at: gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020
