Story
This is Abby. She is a full blooded Golden Retriever, she is 11 years old, born July 2013. I had a baby October 25, 2024 and she was born with a lung condition and I can not take the risk of irritation from any pets in the house. It breaks my heart to get rid of Abby, she is such a sweetheart and loves everyone but my daughter’s health is far more important to me. Abby loves to be outside and she’ll stay right with you. She really just needs a home where she can be loved and get attention.

Story
Teddy is the best cuddler. Our favorite thing about Teddy is that we have seen him grow from a very weak and troubled dog to a very happy boy. He is a special needs case, in that he will need someone who would rather sit and binge-watch an episode than go on a long walk. He struggles with stairs and will need either a home without or someone who can help him by lifting and carrying him. He adores people, other dogs, and even does fine with cats. This boy would rather spend his days curled up at your side than doing much else. He loves treats and takes them so gently. He's a puppy but moves slowly and carefully so he approached all new situations with a heavy dose of caution. Teddy came to us as a medical case where he couldn't gain weight and was very weak. We have tried a variety of solutions and now time will tell how he will do in the future. Teddy was diagnosed with Centronuclear myopathies (CNM). This is a inherited, congenital disorder that affects his muscles. It is a rather rare disease, but we are hoping there will be the right family out there to take care of Teddy. He really shouldn't need too much extra life-long medical care. Along with CNM, he does have mega-esophagus as well, which means he needs an elevated feeding dish, smaller portions throughout the day, and may have a bit of regurgitation from time to time. With mega-esophagus, he does run the low risk of pneumonia in his lifetime, which will just need to be monitored and managed if it happens. We do know that he will he be a very low activity dog, due the disease and having another medical issue that can increase his risk for collapse. When Teddy came in for pictures, we all gathered around and loved on this sweet boy. He isn't like other dogs, but he is a very special lab who is looking for a forever home that will take care of him. We would be happy to answer any questions from potential adopters about Teddy and his life-long disabilities. Apply to meet this special boy, today! Someone just as special as Teddy has sponsored his adoption fee in full.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. June Carter is looking for a FOSTER or FOREVER home Summary: June Carter is a spirited young pup with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Rescued from the Wind River Reservation at a tender age of 5 weeks, she and her brother battled through illness with resilience and are now thriving. June is now seeking a foster or forever home where she can continue to grow and flourish. Personality: June Carter is described as affectionate, playful, and eager to please. She is crate trained, knows basic commands, and enjoys learning through positive reinforcement. While she bonds closely with her foster mom, she can be cautious around strangers, especially men. June loves outdoor adventures, playing in the snow, and interacting with other dogs. She's a bit assertive with her food and toys but responds well to guidance. Special Requirements: June Carter has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and is currently managed with carprofen and fish oil supplements to support her joint health. She requires a fenced yard due to her active nature and preference for outdoor play. She would thrive in a home without children and prefers the company of women. Her ideal home would provide opportunities for play, exploration, and ongoing positive reinforcement training. Compatibility: June gets along well with cats and other dogs. She's suited for a home with adults who can provide the understanding and patience needed to help her build confidence around new people and environments. If you're ready to give June Carter the loving home she deserves, visit laramieanimals.org to apply today! (breed mix is an estimate based on her appearance) Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.    **Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com** November 5, 2024, 4:49 pm
