Name: Nina Best Guess for Breed: Golden retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years SEX: female Approximate Weight: 49lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have not seen Nina with cats or children but she can be tested! Currently Living at: SC Rescue Campus Special adoption considerations: Nina is a truly Lucky Dog. Although she has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process. Nina is Looking For: Nina was pregnant with four beautiful puppies (Naruto, Natalia, Newton, and Norman) and she has been the best momma, taking care of them and nursing them ever since. Nina is looking for a loving home that will spoil her rotten because she deserves it after being the best momma! Sniffy walks and romps in the park and exploring her new environment by her humans' side, all on her wish list. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed too. But - she wants nothing more than to be under her own roof, safe and loved for all her days. In exchange, she promises warmth and love and adoring gazes and all the loyalty in her heart. What My Foster Says About Me: We will update once Nina has spent time in a foster home! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
