Story
Introducing, London! London is 7 months old and 40 lbs. This boy is gorgeous with his golden fur and stunning green eyes. Just like any pup, London loves to run and play with his toys and bones but his main preference is to be with his humans and other dogs. He loves to be your shadow and cool off on the kitchen tile floor while you are cooking; hang out on the sofa while you are watching TV; or just sitting in the grass during yard work. London's foster mom says it best: "He is the happiest, wiggliest velcro dog who will make sure you get your steps in. He's a social butterfly and loves dogs and people. If you want a smile on your face every day, he's the dog for you!" Interested in learning more about London? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt *London is neutered, up-to-date vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 45 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Grace does well with other dogs. She plays with other dogs at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center and is considered a hard player who would do best (if there is another dog in the home) with someone who is active but confident about asserting their boundaries. KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not currently know how Grace is with cats. If that is needed, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Grace did okay with her previous owners' grandchildren, but we don't think living with small children permanently would be a good fit. KNOWN COMMANDS: Touch, sit, down, spin KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Grace is housebroken to our knowledge. KNOWN LIKES: Affection, dogs, treats, training, toys KNOWN DISLIKES: Grace did have a hard time at the vet and may have some handling sensitivities - we recommend working on muzzle training for future vet visits, people touching her food or toys when she is engaging with it, but will always trade! ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Grace, the spirited pup with a heart full of love and a zest for life that's sure to bring joy to any home. With an estimated weight of 45 lbs, Grace may be compact in size, but she's bursting with energy and affection. In the realm of canine companionship, Grace is a social butterfly, thriving in the company of other dogs at the Homeward Trails Adoption Center. However, her exuberant play style may require an owner who is active and confident in setting boundaries. With the right guidance, Grace is sure to make a wonderful playmate for a furry friend. Grace's list of likes is simple yet heartwarming - she thrives on the love and affection of her human companions, along with tasty treats to reward her good behavior. However, she does have a dislike for loud noises, so a calm and peaceful environment would suit her best. Despite her past challenges, including sensitivity at the vet and making a mess at home, Grace is ready to turn over a new leaf and find a loving forever family who can provide her with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and, most importantly, unconditional love. If you're seeking a loyal and energetic companion to join your home, look no further than Grace - she's waiting to steal your heart and become your steadfast furry friend for life. Story
Stevie (aka Higgins) has a golden retriever temperament - loving and gentle. His foster Mom shared these insights: When I sit on the floor he comes over and gently sniffs my head-shoulders-cheek - his whiskers tickle. He enjoys petting and eagerly approaches and leans in for it. He loves food, especially plain, unsalted rice cakes as treats! Stevie is a brave dog, but had a hard life before HART. He was picked up as a stray in southwest Virginia, dirty, matted and wandering around alone, which is especially disturbing because he is fully blind. Although he can't see his sense of smell and hearing are excellent and help him navigate quite well after he learns the obstacles in a space. Stevie is smart and is quickly learning commands. Let us know if you would like to meet this smart, gorgeous boy! Thank you for your interest in Stevie The Golden! Story
Dallas (now Riley) is an affectionate and cuddly dog who is never far from his people. He is very low maintenance and happy to snooze or lounge the day away in the house, but never passes up an opportunity to romp in the woods or chase a ball in a field. He is well trained with his 'heel' and 'side' commands making him an excellent running or hiking partner. Riley is fully house trained, crate trained, walks well on the leash, and loves to show off his commands such as place, high-five, and beg. He loves to be included in all activities, but is also fine being left at home for some of the day. Whenever you come home you'll surely be greeted with a toy, gigantic smile, and a snuggle. Story
Honey is such a loving and caring dog. She has been part of our family for almost 3 years now. We are a family of 4. We have 2 children ages 6 and 4. Toby and Honey are great with kids! They are family dogs. We got her when she was about 4 months as a birthday gift for our other male Golden Toby as a special surprise. She has been such a loyal and companion dog to our other male Golden Retriever Toby. They are inseparable! Unfortunately, my husband and I can no longer care for them because of our busy schedules. We are also struggling financially enough that we can no longer afford to care for Honey and Toby at the time and give them the attention they deserve. As hard as it is, we have made one of the hardest decisions to move forward with what’s best for them. I truely hope to find a loving family who would be willing to take her and Toby into their home . I would not want for them to be separated. Toby is such a great partner. They both are amazing dogs.
