Story
Harley was adopted as a puppy from a family who's pets had an accidental litter. Over the years the family added a baby to the family. It was recently discovered that the baby is highly allergic to dogs. The family is devastated because Harley is a wonderful dog with the best temperament, but they have to make this decision due to the health of their baby.  This sweet lady is housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with dogs, cats and kids of all shapes and sizes. She rides well in a car and is leash trained. She can also be trusted to have free roam of the house and loves to swim.  The  sweetest and friendliest girl who loves attention and has never met anyone she didn’t like. She is the “take anywhere” type of dog. She’s been to dog days at the waterpark, outdoor concerts, swimming and boating on the lake, and countless other public events.  Harley is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm negative. All she needs now is a forever home to call her own. Please complete an online application today to meet this sweet girl: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/ DOB: 9/01/17 Weight: 65lbs  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Are you my forever companion? I'm Charlie, a sweet and loving pup looking for my perfect match. I'm a bit particular and enjoy my routine, so someone who understands and can accommodate that would be ideal. I can be shy at first, so a patient and kind partner is a must. No other furry friends or little ones at home, please! A cozy yard for playtime would be wonderful, but l'm not a fan of long walks or car rides. Let's cuddle up at home together! Charlie wants you to know even with his black fur and scars from puppy strangles, he is handsome, sweet, loving, smart and has all the same love and personality as the fluffy one over there! Charlie loves meeting new people; not around kiddos much. He is practicing his manners and learning his commands. He is fully potty trained and uses a doggy door. He knows the command sit and we are working on more. He loves taking walks and exploring the outdoors. He loves his ball and playing in the sprinkler. Charlie is king of the backyard sunshine! He loves to play but is a very chill, loving boy. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Millie, this sweet girl is much smaller than she looks, about 30 pounds, crate trained, potty-trained and good with other pups and children. Millie has lived with a child in a wheelchair and does just fine! Millie is about 10 months old and finds herself in an unexpected position. She had a loving owner, but the family situation changed, and a new marriage brought a ten-year old dog that attacks and will not accept her. Millie is so sweet so it is better for her to be in a home that she can thrive. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Clarence is doing so much better these days and enjoys the comforts of a home. He is very cuddly, and you can't help but love him! His wounds have healed. Some hair is growing back but not all of it will due to the severity but it sure didn't stop him from trusting again. He is such a good boy. Dog friendly and loves to run outside in the yard with his foster friend. This poor boy was either dragged or received chemical burns on his body. He was found as stray at the shelter, we just knew he needed relief and extra love and attention. We pleaded for a foster so he could experience what love, safety, comfort are all about. Despite the pain he was in he was sweet, loving and grateful. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
This beautiful retriever was found as stray on Christmas Day. A good samaritan took her in and as soon as she knew she was safe she quickly delivered 10 little puppies. Adopting puppies is exciting and can be one of the most loving experiences. Puppies are young and cute, they are energetic, eager to learn, eager to please, happy, and exuberant. But it requires a significant commitment by their humans. While training puppies you need time, patience, consistency, routine and lots of love. Providing these essential elements helps them grow into well-adjusted, happy, and healthy furever companions. While we don't want to discourage anyone from adopting a puppy and want to continue to save more, we want the ones adopted to be successful in their homes. We have a large amount of resources available to help families navigate their lives with a new puppy.
