VIP ADOPTABLE: heartworm positiveHershey was found as a stray. He was trying to get into a hospital when it was cold and a security officer called our Animal Services Officers. Hershey served an extended stray time while we tried to locate an owner, but one was never found. Hershey is ready for a new forever home. Hershey tested positive for heartworms which is a treatable condition. Please ask any team member for more information about low cost treatment options and Hershey!

Story
Charlie is an absolute amazing pup! He is so sweet and cuddly and loves to play. He is completely UTD on his shots. He was born in late September. He is kennel trained, and treat motivated. He gets along great with our other dog and is such a sweet boy. The only reason why we are rehoming is because of a recent change in mine and my husband’s work schedule, and we do not have enough time to provide to him. He really is the best puppy and deserves a home that can give him more attention.

Story
Meet Louise! Louise is a 3 year old angel girl. She’s 60 pounds of love. While shy around new people, once she warms up she will be your new best friend. Completely calm and chill in the house she’ll spend her day napping and cuddling. But she also has plenty of energy to play fetch and go on walks with you. She gets along well with any and all other dogs and just wants to play with her canine friends. I’ve been her foster for a year and can answer any and all questions you have. Louise is seriously the best girl and is crate trained and house trained. She’s so smart and loves to learn new tricks. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Ferguson!Ferguson is a 2 year old Goldendoodle.Ferguson is a sweet cuddly boy who just wants love. He is smart and learns quickly even though he can`t have treats for motivation. Some love and attention is all the reward he needs. He enjoys playing with his foster fur brother and would love to have a fur sibling in his forever home. He does well with kitty friends too. He needs a home without younger children. One of the most important things with Megaesophagus is that there`s nothing for them to eat off the floor. Even though Ferguson is a little extra work this boy is more than worth it!Normally when a dog swallows, their esophagus moves the food from their mouth to their stomach to be digested. In Megaesophagus, dogs are unable to swallow food normally because their esophagus lacks the muscular tone and motility needed to move food and water. Instead, their esophagus dilates and food backs up, causing them to regurgitate the meal. Thankfully dogs with Megaesophagus can live long and happy lives some some modifications to their day! Ferguson needs to eat and drink in a Bailey chair and sit up for 20-30 minutes after each feeding. He can`t have large meals or fatty foods so 3 meals a day is important, he is also on a specialty diet.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
