Story
With her rich, chocolatey coat and white-speckled "powdered sugar" chest and paws, Maple Bar is as sweet as her name suggests. Having recently graduated from the puppy stage, she is a stunning girl with a bright, open smile and soulful eyes. She is good with other dogs and is looking for a patient, loving home where her striking looks can truly blossom. Because she thrives in a predictable environment, she would do best in a home without young children. If you have a little extra love and patience to give, Maple Bar is ready to be your most loyal companion. Maple Bar is waiting for her perfect match! Visit us today to see how you can start your journey together.

Story
Inugami is a distinctive Golden Lab and Shar-Pei mix who has recently arrived in our care. While he is still settling into his new surroundings, he has shown himself to be a friendly and attentive companion to the staff here. With his classic wrinkled brow and thoughtful expression, he is a calm presence in his kennel, though we are still learning more about his full personality every day. Inugami is currently sharing a kennel with his close friend, Samara. The two share a strong connection and rely on each other for comfort as they navigate the transition into the shelter environment. Because of this bond, we believe they would do best staying together and are looking for a home that is ready to welcome them as a pair. Please consider opening your heart and home to this devoted duo. Whether you are interested in fostering or adopting, you can provide Inugami and Samara with the stability they need while they wait for their forever family.

MOCHA: Bold, Energetic, and Full of Zest Mocha is a large, lively dog with the kind of energy that makes every day feel like a fresh cup of fun. New to us and found by a good samaritan, Mocha is ready to stir up some excitement in a foster or forever home. Looks like a Labrador/Shepherd/Hound mix, Mocha may be estimated around four years old, but this spirited pup still has plenty of puppy-like energy. Zooming, exploring, and discovering new things—Mocha is ready to bring big movement and bold personality to a home that’s ready to keep up. Mocha: smooth, rich, and full-bodied—ready to energize your day.

Story
This gorgeous girl is not quite available for adoption, but will be soon after she is done raising a family of her very own! She is currently nursing her puppies and we urgently need a maternity foster to help get her out of the stressful shelter so she can focus on giving her puppies everything they need to grow. Moms and puppies do not need a ton of space and prefer a quiet room or space to themselves as opposed to being a part of the household action; so if you've got a spare bedroom, office, bathroom or closet space where you can keep them separate from resident pets then you are perfect for maternity fostering! APA will gladly provide all supplies and give you a run down of what to expect throughout the process. We ask that maternity fosters keep mom and puppies until the puppies have weaned and started eating gruel, which is usually around 3-4 weeks of age. At that point we are able to move the puppies to new foster homes so they can start their journey towards adoption and mom as well if that is preferred. Or if you want to see the family through to adoption yourself we will gladly help you through that stage as well! Please reach out to give a family the quiet, comfy place they need during this vulnerable stage. You will get to enjoy an immense amount of puppy cuddles and joy watching them grow up. And as the foster you will get first priority for adopting mom or a puppy of your choice. Can you help a mom and her puppies by signing up to be a maternity foster today??
