Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue:12/4/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Transferred from a veterinary partner Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Jaxon Zamboni is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Zamboni arrived in rescue via transfer from a vet partner and friend. He had supposedly been recently adopted from a NC shelter and was brought into his local vet for a potential intestinal blockage. The owners declined and requested euthanasia. The caring vet knows our community and reached out. Our veterinary partner conducted exploratory surgery and found no blockage (thankfully). There was inflammation in the intestines and without surgery Zamboni would most likely have died. Prior records indicate that Zamboni was treated for heartworms earlier this year by his owners. Monthly preventative is imperative for this dog. Weight: 64 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, but he would love one! What kind of home would be best for me? Zamboni is an active dog who loves to run, play, and stay busy. If you don’t have a fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy, he will need at least 1.5 hours of exercise every day. Daily walks, playing fetch, hiking, biking, or even swimming – Zamboni will happily join in on any activity you enjoy! Zamboni is an ideal companion for an active person, couple, or family. He's great with children. Labs are known for their gentle and playful nature, making them fantastic family dogs. As with any dog, interactions between young children and Zamboni should always be supervised, but you’ll find he’s patient, loving, and not at all aggressive. Zamboni gets along wonderfully with other dogs. If you have a cat, it’s important to monitor their interactions initially, but Labs are generally good-natured and get along well with cats and other small animals once they’re introduced. What is my personality like? Meet Jaxon Zamboni, we just call him Zamboni – a handsome, two-year-old Labrador Retriever with all the classic characteristics of his breed. He's gentle, loving, playful, and simply a joy to be around! Zamboni has an exuberant personality and a sociable nature that makes him the perfect companion. Like labs, he can be mischievous and, as his history shows, will eat random things. You must closely monitor this silly boy! Zamboni is smart and eager to please, so training will be a breeze! He will need some guidance on walking nicely on a leash and learning basic commands, but with consistency, he’ll quickly catch on. As with most Labs, Zamboni does shed – quite a bit! He also has a special love for mud and rolling in, well... less-than-fresh things. Regular grooming will keep his short, smooth coat in good condition. You can easily brush him with a grooming glove or metal comb, and a bath and nail trim once a month will help keep him looking and feeling great. How do I act when I first meet new people? Zamboni is sweet, outgoing, and loves everyone he meets. He’s a tolerant boy who’s always up for cuddles and affection. If you’re looking for an athletic, active, and loving companion, Zamboni is the perfect fit! Zamboni is a sweet and outgoing boy who loves everyone he meets. His loving and gentle personality makes him a perfect dog for most anyone. If you're ready for a fun, friendly, and energetic dog who will be by your side through even adventure, Zamboni would love to be your boy! Other tips and tidbits: Jaxon Zamboni was born on 6/8/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. House trained? If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 19, 2024, 6:41 am
