Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:12/4/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Transferred from a veterinary partner Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Jaxon Zamboni is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Zamboni arrived in rescue via transfer from a vet partner and friend. He had supposedly been recently adopted from a NC shelter and was brought into his local vet for a potential intestinal blockage. The owners declined and requested euthanasia. The caring vet knows our community and reached out. Our veterinary partner conducted exploratory surgery and found no blockage (thankfully). There was inflammation in the intestines and without surgery Zamboni would most likely have died. Prior records indicate that Zamboni was treated for heartworms earlier this year by his owners. Monthly preventative is imperative for this dog. Weight: 64 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? No, but he would love one! What kind of home would be best for me?  Zamboni is an active dog who loves to run, play, and stay busy. If you don’t have a fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy, he will need at least 1.5 hours of exercise every day. Daily walks, playing fetch, hiking, biking, or even swimming – Zamboni will happily join in on any activity you enjoy! Zamboni is an ideal companion for an active person, couple, or family. He's great with children. Labs are known for their gentle and playful nature, making them fantastic family dogs. As with any dog, interactions between young children and Zamboni should always be supervised, but you’ll find he’s patient, loving, and not at all aggressive. Zamboni gets along wonderfully with other dogs. If you have a cat, it’s important to monitor their interactions initially, but Labs are generally good-natured and get along well with cats and other small animals once they’re introduced. What is my personality like?  Meet Jaxon Zamboni, we just call him Zamboni   – a handsome, two-year-old Labrador Retriever with all the classic characteristics of his breed. He's gentle, loving, playful, and simply a joy to be around! Zamboni has an exuberant personality and a sociable nature that makes him the perfect companion. Like labs, he can be mischievous and, as his history shows, will eat random things. You must closely monitor this silly boy! Zamboni is smart and eager to please, so training will be a breeze! He will need some guidance on walking nicely on a leash and learning basic commands, but with consistency, he’ll quickly catch on.  As with most Labs, Zamboni does shed – quite a bit! He also has a special love for mud and rolling in, well... less-than-fresh things. Regular grooming will keep his short, smooth coat in good condition. You can easily brush him with a grooming glove or metal comb, and a bath and nail trim once a month will help keep him looking and feeling great. How do I act when I first meet new people?    Zamboni is sweet, outgoing, and loves everyone he meets. He’s a tolerant boy who’s always up for cuddles and affection. If you’re looking for an athletic, active, and loving companion, Zamboni is the perfect fit! Zamboni is a sweet and outgoing boy who loves everyone he meets. His loving and gentle personality makes him a perfect dog for most anyone. If you're ready for a fun, friendly, and energetic dog who will be by your side through even adventure, Zamboni would love to be your boy! Other tips and tidbits: Jaxon Zamboni was born on 6/8/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. House trained? Yes without exception.  Kristie must have a physically fenced in yard (no shock fences please) at least 4' or higher (she is not a jumper).  Kristie has never known life without the security of  a fenced in yard.  She has never walked the streets of a neighborhood and had no idea what "go potty" means when your walking on a leash. She has a lot to learn and a fenced in yard while she is learning will make all the difference in her development and transition from farm dog to family pet. What kind of home would be best for me?  Meet Kristie, your future adventure buddy! Kristie is a beautiful, energetic, and joyous girl who’s eagerly looking for her forever home! Kristie came to us as a breeder release, and although much of the world is new to her, she approaches everything with enthusiasm and a big, happy smile. Kristie is a bundle of energy and playfulness. While she may pull on the leash and need some basic training, she is eager to please and we’re confident she’ll be a quick learner. The time you spend teaching her will not only help her become a well-mannered pup, but it will also be a rewarding bonding experience that will strengthen your connection. Kristie would do well in a variety of homes—whether with a single person, a couple, or a family. She’s especially fond of children and would love the chance to be part of a family with built-in playmates. Kristie is also happy around other energetic dogs and enjoys daily playtime with her canine friends. As with most breeder dogs, she has never been an only dog. She may transition to only dog status but first priority will be given to homes with another dog for Kristie to follow and model.   Kristie is a loving, happy girl who is always eager to please. She would be thrilled to accompany you on any adventure, whether it's a walk or jog, a trip to the café, or even an outing to the beach or mountains. No matter where you go, Kristie will happily join in the fun and bring a smile to your face. Kristie is waiting patiently for her forever home. If you’re looking for a joyful, energetic companion who will keep you smiling and ready for adventure, Kristie might just be the perfect match for you! What is my personality like? Playful and energetic. How do I act when I first meet new people? Curious. She is not going to come running up to you but she won't run away either.  She will need some patience.  You are NEW and she wants time to get to know you.  Our groomer calls these girls "crock pot" dogs - slow to warm up but oh if you give them the time, the flavor of your new relationship will be exquisite.   How do I act when I first meet new people?  When meeting new people, Kristie is friendly but a little shy at first. If you’d like to win her over, it’s best to approach her with an underhanded gesture and give her a scratch on the chin or chest—she’ll quickly warm up to you and allow you to pet her. Other tips and tidbits: Kristie was born on 01/15/19. House trained? Story
Turbo is a big dog with a bigger personality. Turbo likes his live a certain way, which is mainly a ball to play with, a person to be with, and a nice bed to lay on. He is tolerant of other dogs, and can definitely go to a house with the right fur siblings, but he is more interested in living the calm life. His size really doesn’t match his temperament, as he is one of the calmest dogs at the shelter. It won’t take him long to catch on to your home routine, and once he has it down, your day to day life with Turbo should be very easy. He prefers calmer dogs around his size, and no small kids or animals. He is a dog that won’t change your lifestyle very much once you take him home!

Story
Hey! My name is Penny and I am looking for my forever home. My friends at the shelter describe me as calm and loving. After a short walk I am content to hop up on my bench and take a nice, long nap. I take treats gently and am very easy to leash up. For some reason I do not like cats and would need to go to a home without cats. Some dogs are ok with me but others I don`t like as much. It is hard to say if I will like my protentional dog sibling or not, but don`t worry, you can bring them by the shelter and I can decide for myself when I meet them. A more calm dog with a soft approach seems to be more up my alley. I have a lot of love to give and just want the right family to give it to!

Story
Hello! I’m Saint, a Retriever mixed breed dog. I have been described as friendly, loving, protective, adventurous, and doting. Some of my favorite things to do are bury treats and mark my territory on walks. I’m not a huge fan of toys or treats, but I love playing with people! I know the commands sit and leave it. I would like to learn more commands too! My ideal home would have dogs that are on the more gentle and dainty side because I`m just learning how to play. I`m a little shy when it comes to meeting news dogs, but I warm up quickly. I would love to go on a couple walks or runs a day too! I look forward to meeting you soon!
