Story
Get ready to fall in love with Maple May, the happiest little bundle of sweetness you could ever hope to meet. With her big brown puppy dog eyes that honestly look like they belong on a teddy bear, it’s almost impossible not to melt the moment you see her. Those soft eyes paired with her incredibly fluffy, velvety coat make her look like a real-life stuffed animal that somehow came to life.
She’s playful, curious, and full of joyful puppy energy, but she’s also incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. Snuggles, gentle pets, and curling up beside you are some of her absolute favorite things. She has that soft, loving personality that makes you want to scoop her up and tell her she’s perfect (because she kind of is). Between her teddy bear eyes, her unbelievably soft fur, and her sweet, happy spirit, Maple is the kind of puppy who makes every day feel a little brighter just by being in it.

Maple May is believed to be a Golden Retriever/lab mix approximately 6 months old and currently weighs 34 lbs and growing! She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age.
Isn't she the sweetest thing ever?! We totally agree and so do her foster parents. They cannot stop raving about her and have said she is easy going, sweet as can be, a great companion, and just loves to be included. Maple brings cuteness, curiosity, and a whole lot of love. She’s playful, sweet, and oh so cuddly, with a personality as big as her heart. Her daily routine? Eat, sleep, play, snuggle, repeat! Emphasis on the snuggles and naps though! Snuggles are a mandatory part of her day. She loves to snuggle and wants to be curled up right next to you.
When it comes to other dogs, she has the sweetest little heart and truly wants to be part of the group, she just needs a bit of reassurance at first. You’ll often see her choosing to stay near the other dogs, curious about what they’re doing and wanting to be included, but she can feel a little unsure when meeting new friends right away. When she’s feeling nervous she may show her cute little teefers or tuck her tail, which is simply her way of saying she needs a moment to figure things out. It’s all part of her learning that new doggy friends can be safe and fun. The good news is that her interest in other dogs is very much there. She clearly wants to be around them and lights up when she’s comfortable enough to join in. With gentle introductions and kind, patient dog companions, she begins to relax and show more of her playful, happy side. She’s still building confidence and discovering that making new friends can be a wonderful thing.
Because of this, she would do best with a calm, friendly dog who has good social manners and a kind, reassuring personality. A dog who is happy to invite her to play, but also respectful enough to give her little breaks when she needs them, would be a wonderful match. With the right canine buddy and a supportive home, we believe her confidence will continue to blossom and she’ll grow into a happy little member of the pack. She would also be just as happy being your one and only fur baby too.
Maple also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with one. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know!
Maple is already so well behaved and according to her foster, already has wonderful house manners too. She is mastering her leash skills and comes prepped already knowing a couple of basic commands such as sit and down. She loves treats, is eager to please, and has already proven she's a smart little girl. The perfect trifecta for any additional training you would like to do with her in the future. It'll be an enjoyable bonding experience for you both.
Maple would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can romp around, stretch her legs, play with her toys, and relax in the sun. She also has the potential of thriving in an apartment/condo setting as well with the proper exercise and socialization. She doesn’t need much but a long walk to the park, a place where she can play fetch, or even in-home mental stimulation puzzles. She would love that too. In all honesty though, she is completely happy being a total couch potato as well.
We are willing to test Maple May with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
