Story
**COME MEET ME at our next ADOPTION EVENT at TRACTOR SUPPLY~Columbia Station Location on SATURDAY, MARCH 8 FROM 11 - 2. On site adoption is possible with a pre-approved application on file!** Meet Olive - a sweet, playful girl who is full of energy and love! Olive is a 12lb, 4-month-old Golden Retriever mix. She’s an absolute joy and has a personality that will melt your heart. She’s a big fan of all things fun — stuffies, chew bones, balls, you name it! If it’s something she can play with, it’s her favorite thing in the world. She loves playing fetch, cuddling with her foster sibling, and curling up next to her humans for some snuggles. Olive is incredibly food-motivated, which has made training a breeze! In just two days, she’s already mastered the “sit” command and is eager to learn more. Her sweet nature is clear — she’ll follow you around the house, always by your side and ready for the next adventure. Like any young pup, she has her share of puppy tendencies, including mouthing hands and picking up things that aren’t hers. But don’t worry — she’s easily redirected with a toy of her own. She’s getting along wonderfully with her 4-legged foster sibling and even with small kids, showing how sweet and gentle she is with everyone. Olive is still working on potty training and crate training and is making great progress. She consistently goes potty outside, although we’re still figuring out her cues for when she needs to go. Crate training is a work in progress. Olive cries for a little while when placed in her crate and may have accidents when left during the day. At night, she’ll cry for about 30 minutes before settling down, however, she is making improvements each day. Overall, Olive is a wonderful, sweet pup with a playful spirit and a lot of love to give. With some patience and continued training, she’ll be the perfect addition to any family. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility. Meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters. Age: 4 months Adoption fee: $500

Story
Duncan has spring fever and is ready to spring into your life! Duncan is a male labradoodle that weighs 67 pounds. He is 2 year old (DOB 2-12-23). He came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own. Duncan was very loved but sometimes, life throws us for a loop and his family made the responsible choice to trust us to find their boy a loving home. And that is what we will do. Duncan is such a good boy. Previous owner reports that Duncan is housetrained and crate trained. In fact, Duncan will “chirp” and stomp his feet at the door when he needs to go potty. He likes to sleep in his crate at night. He can be a bit mischievous if left alone and is uncrated. He has an affinity for socks and hair ties. He will require regular brushing and grooming to keep him looking and feeling fabulous. Please research the costs of grooming before you take on a doodle. Professional grooming for a dog Duncan’s size can be upwards of $100. Duncan knows several commands such as “Sit, paw, and high five.” He is very strong on leash and will need a strong handler. Duncan is allergic to chicken. He is currently on Purina One turkey kibble and does just fine. In his previous home, Duncan lived with two children aged 11 and 14 years old. He also lived with 3 cats. He played very well with a visiting dog that was a comparable size to Duncan. As always, a meet and greet with any resident canines is required to make sure everyone gets along. He would do best with children who are older because he does not know his size. He will knock children over when he gets excited. Duncan will thrive with an active family that will play with him, take him on adventures, and even hikes in the park. Duncan is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he has completed all his vetting which includes neuter, microchip, heartworm testing, and updated vaccines. If you are interested in adding this good boy to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete an online adoption application to set up an appointment to meet Duncan. Duncan’s adoption fee is $250.

Story
Emmie is a beautiful Golden Retriever who has the most wonderful personality. She is definitely a lover and cuddler! She has completed two series of puppy training courses and has mastered obedience and commands. She is very smart but loves to play with her toys and have fun. I am looking for someone who can spend a lot of time with her during the day because that is what she deserves. I had to take a new job which keeps me away from her for most of the day and it is not fair to her. Please have outdoor space and lots of love to give!
