Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Cheese Biscuit is about 10 months old & 40 pounds and came to us from Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene. Cheese Biscuit did not have a good life before, or after Helene. Another dog from the same home as Cheese was shot and killed in a drug deal gone bad. Following that incident, the owner was ordered to surrender his animals and Cheese Biscuit was one of them. Currently, Cheese Biscuit has lyme disease & anaplasmosis, but both are being treated and were caught in time to be cured. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:52 am

Story
Frankie is a high energy dog that needs a family with ample time to dedicate to her training. We adopted Frankie with high hopes and our life took a major turn and we’re not able to give her the life she deserves. We’ve poured many hours of training into her but still struggle to maintain a happy balance with Frankie and our family. She’s been trained on a prong collar and responds very well to that. She’s also had some training with an ecollar that has been successful.

Story
I rescued Daisy 9 months ago from a kill shelter in NC, shortly before her date was up. Daisy is approx. 4 years old, 50 pounds, mixed breed (we know she has retriever & pyranees). I was unaware that Daisy has separation anxiety when I adopted her. She barks when left alone. Because I live alone in an apartment complex, this behavior is prohibited. Daisy would thrive with more people and/or dogs to keep her company throughout the day, or with an older owner who is home most of the time. She would also love space to run around and develop her independence. She is great with people, children, and other dogs; she knows tricks like sit, paw, down, and place; she walks well on leash; and she loves nothing more than a nap and cuddling on the couch. She is a happy, mellow girl who just loves the company of her person! Daisy is HW Positive, but in the process of receiving care - I am willing to help fund continued care as needed. Willing to waive the adoption fee for the right person!

Story
Blondes have more fun and Ivy is primed and ready to venture out into her furever life and is eager to experience everything she has heard about. Soft beds, treats, snuggles, toys, walkies and smooches...Ivy has heard all of the stories! She may not have had a lot in her life so far, but she deserves everything. This lab/retriever mix pup is still a puppy, weighing about 21 lbs now with plenty of room to grow. Ivy is a little shy and unsure still but has LOTS of doggo friends and has been loving regular meals and attentions from the aet volunteers. Ivy would do well in a home with other dogs, no matter the number, to help improve her confidence as doggo friends are great at doing. She is an angel in her crate and keeps it clean. She would love a patient and encouraging home as well as people who will teach her everything living with a family can and will be. Ivy will surely weave her way around your heart!

Story
When you live in the South, is there anything more refreshing than Ice Tea? We don't think so and we've named a smooth and refreshing young girl after our favorite drink. Ice Tea is a young adolescent retriever mix still growing into her full-size self. At less than 20lbs, she's got some filling out to do under that dark, smooth coat of hers but may always be a more petite lab gal. She gets along great with other dogs and enjoys learning new things around each new corner. Ice Tea will be a great companion for walks and hanging out at your favorite venue. Come out and get refreshed at Saving Grace by meeting Ice Tea. *Weekend Host feedback: "One night she slept in the crate all night but all the others slept with us on the bed or near by. Ice Tea is very gentle dog and at the same time very playful. She loves to play with other dogs and even with big dogs. She is brave for sure. After walk/ play time and food afterwards Ice Tea loves to cuddles near a person on the couch. She is very curious about cats. After she sniffs them she is fine. I have three cats and Ice Tea just wanted to know who they are. She is good on the leash with the other dogs".
