Story
Meet Loving Levi, an affectionate  3-year-old, 55-pound Goldendoodle with a heart as big as his fluffy curls! Levi is searching for a forever home with a fenced yard and a playful dog companion companion or two. Full of life, love, and loyalty—the three “L’s” that inspired his name—this charming boy will be your loyal, fun-loving friend. Levi thrives on companionship and will happily be your “Velcro dog,” always close by. He adores humans and other animals alike, and while he’s not a fan of being left alone for long, he’s calm and content in his foster home, spending time with his furry friends when his foster mom is away. When she’s home, Levi loves curling up by her feet as she works, and he’ll always greet you with enthusiasm and kisses, making you feel truly appreciated! With his soft poodle coat and an adorable white patch on his forehead (perfect for giving kisses!), Levi is as sweet as he is handsome. Although he currently doesn’t live with kids, Levi is always gentle and polite around them, making him a wonderful addition to any family. He’s well-mannered in his foster home, uses the doggie door to go outside. Car rides and walks are some of his favorite activities, and he’s ready to join you on every adventure. Levi is a healthy boy—neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and microchipped. He’s just waiting for a family to share his endless love and loyalty. Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) dedicated to saving high-risk animals like Levi. As part of our mission, we travel to the Northeast weekly, bringing pets like Levi closer to their forever families. For more about our drop-off points and times, visit www.CritterCavalry.com. Story
Ajax is a gorgeous male Golden Retriever mix that has come from a high kill shelter that begged Critter Cavalry Rescue to take him in to our program.  He is about 3-4 years of age and weighs 65 pounds and is the most loving and easy dog to have around.  He is in transit to our rescue now and they have assured us that he will make some family the happiest people on the planet.  He is the total package when you think of adopting a dog that  you possibly cannot meet.  We have full assurance that this “total package” boy is easy going, happy, great with people and other dogs and knows when to relax around his canine friends.  He is not a high energy guy.  He has preferred to lounge in the play yard at the former shelter and just take it easy, rather than do zoomies around the fence.  Chill is probably an appropriate description.  If you work from home this boy would not disturb any of your phone calls or work needs.  Ajax would be that quiet guy that sits by your feet and just keeps you company.  They say he is housebroken and could be in a crate if needed, but we think he probably would be the dog you can trust “home alone” for hours.  Don’t miss out on this one.  The Goldens and mixes go fast and Ajax deserves to not have to hang out long without being scooped up and loved. If you are interested, please be sure to email us ASAP at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    He is in Tennessee and able to be transported to the northeastern corridor.  We have many stops along the way to meet the transport van. Story
Meet Mater, our beloved senior lab-hound mix. Anybody who's had the joy of meeting him will agree he is the complete opposite of a grumpy old man. Though he is 12 years old, his spirit is pure puppy. Mater is a hilarious, lovable goofball who adores everyone and thrives on having fun. He enjoys his walks, playing fetch, and burying his toys just to dig them up 5 minutes later pretending he found treasure. When summertime comes, give him a fenced-in yard and a kiddie pool, and you’ll witness pure joy—Mater goes absolutely crazy for water! In October 2021, shortly after arriving to us from North Carolina, Mater was briefly adopted but returned the next day. His adopters realized his playful puppy personality didn’t quite match his senior status. Mater still needs to work on house training and learning which items are chew toys and which aren’t. However, with some patience and consistency, Mater has all the potential to improve and do great in the right home. Mater is looking for a home that fits his unique needs. For him, a fenced in yard is a must have, cats are a must NOT have, and an owner with patience and understanding is essential. He needs someone who can appreciate his big personality and guide him with love and structure. While Mater may be a special case, he’s also a special dog, and the love that he will bring is priceless. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing and fill your days with joy, Mater might just be the perfect fit!

Story
At Pets Alive, every dog surrender is a chance to discover and understand their unique needs, and help them find a home environment that will better suit them for a happier life. Pebbles is one of our longer term senior dogs, and has become a favorite among our staff. She has had a challenging past, which has made her cautious around new faces. Earning her trust takes time—she will need at least a couple of visits before she feels comfortable—but the reward is immeasurable. Once Pebbles lets you into her world, you’ll become her certified best friend for life! She’s an extremely loving little lady, and despite her old age, she still has quite the energy—especially when it involves treats, a walk, or a romp around the yard with her chosen people. Pebbles would thrive in a home with a single adult and no children. She needs a patient owner who understands her protective nature and is committed to helping her feel safe and secure. We’d love to see her live out her golden years with someone who can see the same potential our staff sees in her every day. She has so much to offer to the right person who’s willing to give her a chance. If Pebbles sounds like the right match for you and your household, we’d love to hear from you! Please dont hesitate to fill out an application if you’d like to know more.

Story
Tummi (mama) was severely neglected by owner - poor girl had given birth to 8 previous litters already and not one puppy survived - all were killed by Parvo or killed by cars in their busy area. NorthStar rescued Tummi and she gave birth safely to 7 healthy puppies.   Puppy Brioche was adopted to a lovely family and renamed Moira. Although she is much loved, Moira is now coming back to NorthStar because she is no longer a good fit for their growing family.    Moira is looking for an experienced dog owner and a kid-free home. She has some resource guarding of her food and her space so a home without kids would be best. She can meet kids outside of the home (she likes them) but we feel she shouldn't live with them. But Moira is a wonderful girl who is playful and active - she loves being outdoors and would love to have a fenced in space where she can run around. She knows loads of commands as she has had extensive professional training - focus, sit, down, stay, come, crate and "Where's your toy?" She is also housetrained.   When Moira meets new people, she is excited and curious - she will sniff them and may try to jump for attention or play. She is not a fan of loud noises like thunderstorms, fireworks, leaf blowers & other loud noises. She is very fond of her crate and considers it her personal space and will guard it as such. She also doesn't like to be separated from her people in the home and can show some anxiety when she is.   We are hoping to find a home with dog savvy people who will give Moira a chance to be part of a family again.   If you'd like to meet Moira, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and ask for her by name!February 9, 2025, 5:38 pm
