Story
Meet McCoy – the sweetest little sidekick you didn’t know you were missing. At just 4.5 months old and 24 pounds, McCoy is a delightful mix of silly, snuggly, and smart. He may be a tiny bit shy at first, but give him a little patience and you’ll quickly discover his playful personality and affectionate heart. McCoy comes from a pretty interesting family tree! His mom is a Heeler/Beagle mix and his dad is a cream-colored Goldendoodle, which resulted in one very unique and adorable pup. He has the coloring of his siblings but favors his Beagle-mix mama in looks — with short little legs, a loooong Basset-style body, and a thick, medium-length coat that’s perfect for cuddling. Though he was born outside and spent his early weeks living outdoors with his parents and littermates, McCoy is now thriving inside a loving foster home. He’s learning all about family life — from the excitement of greeting you at the door (he gives the best welcome-home kisses!) to living with young boys ages 6 and 10. Every day he grows braver and more confident. At first, the big dogs in his foster home made him a little nervous — but now? He’s happily part of the crew. He absolutely loves to run and play outside, and fetch with tennis balls is quickly becoming one of his favorite games. And yes… he is SMART. You can just see those wheels turning. One of the most special things about McCoy is how deeply he bonds with his people. When his foster mom recently had a terrible migraine, McCoy instinctively curled up beside her and stayed close, offering quiet comfort. He’s not just cute — he truly cares. His activity level is beautifully balanced. He enjoys playtime and adventures, but he’s just as happy snuggled up right next to you. With a loving, supportive family, McCoy is going to absolutely bloom into the best kind of companion — loyal, joyful, and full of heart. He is expected to grow to around 45–50 pounds when fully grown. If you’re looking for a special boy who is adorable inside and out, McCoy may be your perfect match. To learn more about McCoy, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We transport from our rescue base in Nashville up the northeastern corridor of states to approved adopters. McCoy is ready to find his forever family — maybe it’s you. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Location: Goldens Bridge, NY (Westchester County, NY)
Breed: Chow Chow & Golden Retriever Mix (80 lbs)
 Birthdate: 6/25/2014 (12 years young)
 Sex: Neutered Male
Training: Come, sit, stay, can be strong on leash but leashed train
Currently Fostered At: Goldens Bridge Veterinary Care Center — check out Amber's Angels Rescue’s Facebook page for weekly updates! Bo is a distinguished senior gentleman looking for a soft place to land for his golden years. He is available for adoption, long-term foster, or co-ownership with the rescue to ensure he is supported and cared for for the rest of his life. Adopting a senior dog can feel scary. Questions about health, time, and “what if” naturally come up. But it doesn’t have to be overwhelming — especially when you’re not doing it alone. We offer lifetime support, and with a senior like Bo, that partnership truly matters. What this co-ownership and foster could look like: Co-ownership or long term foster means Bo becomes part of your family, while the rescue remains actively involved in supporting his long-term well-being. This can include:
 • Ongoing guidance and check-ins
 • Help coordinating veterinary care if needed
• A safety net plan should life circumstances change You provide the daily love, home, and routine. We provide backup and peace of mind. It’s a team approach centered around giving Bo dignity, stability, and comfort. Bo is a sweet senior who truly thrives on companionship. At 12 years old, he enjoys staying close to his people and would love a home filled with steady affection, gentle routines, and the simple comfort of being near his humans. He has lived as an only dog but has been socialized with dogs his size. If placed with a canine companion, a slow and thoughtful introduction will be important. He would do best with dogs his size or smaller and non-dominant personalities. Bo has been cat-tested and would not be appropriate for a cat household, as he shows too much interest. He has previously been around children and has done well. Bo is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and consistently maintained on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He recently had bloodwork and a fecal test — both clear. He has a very small cherry eye that is mild and does not require surgery. Due to his age, he has some mild hearing loss, but it certainly doesn’t impact his quality of life .. he can still hear a treat bag crinkle from across the room. Bo is being rehomed because his beloved owner is transitioning into a nursing home. This decision was made with deep care and love. For years, Bo provided steady companionship, comfort, and emotional regulation to his elderly owner. He was and is deeply loved. Ensuring his continued well-being means everything to us. In his younger years, Bo graduated puppy class and learned his basic commands. He is housebroken and understands home routines well. While he can be strong on leash, he has more recently enjoyed the ease of being let out into a yard for bathroom breaks rather than long walks. He is a gentle, affectionate soul who will make a wonderful companion for the right family. He will be freshly groomed before going to his new home and will come with his food, treats, and comfort items to ease his transition. Senior dogs have a quiet magic about them. They bond deeply. They appreciate every soft bed, every gentle touch, every safe moment. Bo is ready to give someone his whole heart — he just needs a home willing to choose him. 📩 Contact Information:

Story
I have an Adoption Pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need. Thank you! We believe Maggie lived a sad life of neglect, both emotionally and physically, but her gentle and happy Golden spirit shines through, and she is ready to enjoy her happiest years. As with most Goldens, humans are her absolute favorite thing, and she is smiling and happy with the attention she is now receiving every day. Estimated to be 10 years old, and underweight at about 50 lbs., Maggie spent much of her day, every day, confined in a crate in her former home. She would break out of it whenever she could, according to the family that relinquished her to a shelter. She lived with another dog in her former home and got along fine with that dog, but is a bit shy with dogs she has not met before, and cats are unknown to her. Maggie loves being near humans, including kids. She does not like being left alone, possibly due to being left in a crate, and she is dreaming of a home where she can be included with her people most of the time. If you understand and enjoy that wonderful trait of Goldens loving to be near their people, then Maggie may be your perfect match! She eats well and is being fed puppy food along with her kibble to help her gain weight. Treats are new to this sweetheart, and she loves them, so treats given in an open hand are best! She is house-trained and has had no accidents in her kennel. Maggie will love going for short walks to help build her strength, also a new experience for her. With good nutrition, we expect her coat to become full and shiny. Her eyes are already brighter, and she has a big Golden smile! Maggie had not been spayed and also came to us with a large, fatty mass on her side. Her fatty mass is benign and has now been removed, and she is recovering nicely from both surgeries. Maggie has also been vaccinated and microchipped and tested negative for heartworms (hooray!). She has been given a Proheart-6 injection, which provides her with 6 months of heartworm prevention. Maggie is well on her way to being a healthy and happy Golden, and all she needs now is to continue to be given the loving care we have started. She wishes for a home with humans who will value her sweet, resilient, and happy personality. She is a true example of what it means to rescue a dog in need, one who has never known how good a loved dog's life can be. If you would like to make Maggie's senior years her happiest, please ask about her. Maggie will be available to travel north to her home in mid-April. If you would like to give Maggie the loving home she deserves and you are approved to adopt through SGRR, please contact Mary to be considered. If you are not yet approved, visit our website to fill out an application! Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to learn more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. Story
I have an Adoption Pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need. Thank you! This lovely lady is as pretty as a picture and has a smile that lights up a room. Daisy came to our rescue when her dad was unable to find housing at the military base that allowed large dogs. Daisy was well cared for and well loved and is a bit confused about her circumstances, but she is ready to love again! If you looked up the word "happiness" in the dictionary, there might be a picture of Daisy next to the definition. Just look at that smile on her face!! And when Daisy gets to her forever home, she will be grinning far and wide! Super pretty and super sweet - she's the perfect package of fun and good looks! Daisy loves playing with toys, as you can see in her video! She is well-mannered, is house-broken, likes to ride in the car, and walks fairly well on a leash. Daisy is good with other dogs and loves all humans she meets. Daisy is thought to be a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix of about 3 years of age. At 80 lbs, Daisy needs to lose a few pounds and would probably do best around 75 lbs. She has a beautiful, fluffy coat that you will love to pet. Daisy has been spayed, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and is heartworm negative. She has been given a Proheart 6 injection that provides 6 months of heartworm prevention. Daisy will be headed north to be directly adopted on 4/11/26. Please contact Cheryl Kewley to be considered to adopt darling Daisy.
