Hudson is a beautiful eight-year-old Golden Retriever mix, weighing about 55 lbs. She came from a loving family who had to move abroad and couldn’t take her along. She has settled beautifully into her foster home, quickly forming strong bonds with the 3 adults in the home. She has a quirky side — she “smiles” when you pet her head, spins when she’s unsure, and adorably reaches up to give you a hug to let you know she has to go out. Hudson loves being with her people, and is fully housebroken too. Hudson likes other dogs, is friendly when meeting other dogs, but loves her family's attention, and is happy as the only dog in her home. She walks nicely on leash and loves going on hikes & walks ... and enjoys her backyard romps too. If you're looking for a beautiful, loyal, and smart companion to share your life with, Hudson just might be the one! Hi, my name is Loki I am a 9 month old 25 pound, Golden Retriever with Chi mix, and I am a friendly and affectionate young pup who is in search of a loving home. I am an intelligent dog who is always eager to please and I love to show my human friends just how smart I am. I enjoy spending my days playing, exploring, and snuggling up with my human friends when it is time to rest. While I have been told I am good with other dogs, I have not had the chance to interact with many other pups. If you are looking for a furry friend who will be your loyal companion, I am the perfect dog for you! Please consider adopting me and making me a part of your family. Kids must be 8 or older to focus on training puppy. Local adopters only in NY, NJ and CT within 30 miles of NYC. Please note we will only adopt where we have trainers as this is required. We do not have a trainer in Suffolk County (if you are very far out), Bronx or Staten Island. Loki would be great with someone with a flexible schedule to give him time to decompress and continue crate training him. *Rescue Placement Only* Dexter is a 4.5-year-old retriever mix with a story that has so far, had no happy ending. After multiple placement attempts, Dexter ultimately finds himself back at the shelter where he started. Dexter is friendly with people he is comfortable with, but even with that, exhibits quirky behavior from time to time. While Dexter is generally cautious around strangers, he is social with other dogs, displaying tolerance and lower energy during dog-to-dog interactions- However- he may guard his people, once he becomes attached. He has good leash skills and knows basic cues such as sit and paw. Overall, Dexter will need an adult only home with continued training, structure and management of his quirks so that he can finally have the happy ending he deserves. He`s a sweet and gentle dog once he feels comfortable, and he thrives in a secure, predictable environment. I recently adopted Kevin because he was adorable and also carries the name of my deceased son which brought me closer to him but I recently had a fall accident and cannot physically cater to him due to daily pain and bed rest needed. So far I’ve tried potty training him and he’s aware of outside but does make must indoors he’s now 17 weeks old so he’s still in need of training. He definitely loves my 8 yr old and is nowhere aggressive he’s very playful and loves to chew so make sure he has some chewing sticks and treats and toys! One more thing he plays with cats if you have aggressive animals then Kevin is not for your home. Remember he’s to be adopted and not used or abused for different natures.
