Story
Diva is a playful, affectionate, and outgoing girl with plenty of pep in her step and love to give. She adores running, playing, and chasing with other dogs, especially those that can match her fun, active spirit. Her tail is always wagging, and she’s just as happy exploring on her own as she is romping with a canine buddy. Diva would thrive in a home with another dog who shares her zest for playtime. On leash, Diva does wonderfully — she stays close and walks politely without pulling, making her an enjoyable companion for daily outings. Around cats, she mostly ignores them but will happily sneak a bite of their food if she gets the chance. She hasn’t lived with children while in foster care, but she is affectionate and gentle, and her foster believes she would do well with kids, especially those old enough to manage her enthusiasm (and protect their snacks from her curious nose!). Diva is crate trained and does well when crated for short periods, usually just for meals or when her foster is away from home. She’s very food motivated, so she’s always eager to learn, but she should be fed separately as she might try to sneak extra treats from other dogs. With toys, however, she shares well and enjoys playing without issue. Her personality is outgoing, playful, smart, and affectionate. She loves toys, cuddles, and meeting new people — she greets strangers with a friendly, tail-wagging enthusiasm. Diva is still building comfort with car rides, so long adventures will be something she needs to work up to with time. Diva has a few quirks that make her especially endearing. When corrected, she becomes “vocal,” howling as if she’s trying to argue her side of the story — it’s charming and funny, like she’s holding a conversation. Her ideal home would be one where someone is home most of the time to give her the structure, love, and activity she craves. She would do best with regular walks, plenty of playtime, and the chance to sleep close to her people. Loving, lively, and full of personality, Diva is more than ready to find a family of her own. With patience, consistency, and plenty of affection, she will blossom into the perfect companion.

Story
Our process starts with an application. If we think you might be a good fit, we will reach out to coordinate a phone interview. This is followed by a video call with the foster home. Virtual home visit, personal and vet reference checks are required to complete the process. Transport is included in our adoption donation. Athena, 8 months old (estimated DOB May 2025), spayed female, Terrier mix, currently weighs 25 pounds. We think she will get a little bit bigger, but will likely stay under 30 pounds. She is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas and able to transport once matched to an adopter. Athena and her 5 siblings were found crying in the woods behind a woman's home. They did not wander there by themselves, so we believe someone purposely dumped them. The woman who found them was not able to keep them and asked for help. Athena is a young pup who’s just starting to really be a puppy. After healing from her spay, she’s coming out of her shell in the best ways—zoomies included! She’s playful, curious, and wants to engage with her dog friends nonstop now that she’s feeling like herself again. Athena is currently in a very real puppy phase: she’s a big chewer and going through a mouthy stage, so she’ll need plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued guidance. It almost feels like her puppy development was a bit delayed, which means she’s now catching up on all the classic puppy behaviors at once. With structure and patience, she’s learning quickly. She lives with older dogs and is actively learning boundaries, especially understanding when other dogs are finished playing. She’s eager, social, and takes cues better every day. Athena especially enjoys playing with smaller dogs and seems drawn to constant companionship and interaction. Training & Manners Athena is working on her basics and already knows sit, down, drop it, and come—impressive for a puppy still finding her footing. Continued training will help her thrive and build confidence. Cats Athena hasn’t been directly tested with cats, but based on her strong desire to play nonstop, she would likely want to engage them the same way she does dogs. Older or less tolerant cats may not appreciate her enthusiasm. A cat-savvy home with clear boundaries—or a home without cats—may be the best fit. Personality Athena is very sweet, affectionate, playful, and curious. She loves being part of the action and would do best in a home that understands puppy behavior and is ready to guide her through it. Ideal Home Athena would thrive in an active home that can provide: Continued training and structure Lots of appropriate chew outlets Playtime, enrichment, and patience Possibly another playful dog who enjoys interaction With the right family, Athena is going to grow into a wonderful companion. She’s still learning, still growing, and still figuring out the world—but her sweet nature and eagerness to engage make her a joy to watch blossom. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Venus is a 5-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix weighing about 45 lbs. She's currently being fostered in Woodinville, WA and is available for meet and greets with local adopters. For those outside Washington, out-of-state adoption is possible once an approved adopter is lined up. This gorgeous girl is incredibly sweet and affectionate—she’s the kind of dog who will gently rest her head on your lap and gaze at you like you’re her whole world. Venus is calm and people-oriented, happy to match your energy whether it’s relaxing on the couch or joining you for an outdoor adventure. She’s been fostered in homes with other dogs and currently enjoys play sessions with a friendly neighbor pup. Venus loves to run, wrestle, and explore with her canine companions. She especially shines during backyard zoomies and will happily romp around in circles with a buddy. Venus also loves toys and prefers playing with her humans over other dogs. Her zoomies and little “woo” of excitement are just part of her fun, goofy charm. She adores playing in water—whether it’s a kiddie pool or stream on a trail, she’ll splash around with joy. She also rides great in the car, making her a perfect companion for road trips, park visits, or trail days. There are cats in her foster home, and Venus shows a strong interest in chasing them. While she hasn’t had direct contact, a cat-free home or one with very dog-savvy cats would be best. Venus enjoys daily walks and is especially fond of nature trails. She’s still working on leash manners—she can pull some—but she’s learning quickly and is very food motivated. She is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and even trustworthy when left loose in the house. She eats with enthusiasm and does best when fed separately using a slow feeder to prevent her from sneaking bites of other dogs’ meals. While she hasn’t met young children, her foster believes she could do well in a family with older, respectful kids who understand boundaries and enjoy including her in their day-to-day fun. Venus would thrive in a home where she’s truly part of the family. Whether it’s splashing in water, riding shotgun on a weekend getaway, or simply curling up next to you at the end of the day, Venus will bring a whole lot of love—and a few happy “woos”—to her forever home.

Story
Luna Mae, 3 years old, spayed female, Retriever mix, 65 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and able to transport once an adopter is approved. Luna's story began when her rescuers noticed a very pregnant dog roaming. They realized she had her puppies somewhere and started looking for them. They found them in a drainage pipe where Luna had moved them to keep them safe. It took many people but they were able to get all the puppies out and safely into a foster home with Luna. All her puppies are adopted and it's her turn to land a forever family! Luna is the definition of a gentle soul. After surviving life on the streets and raising nine puppies through a freeze, this resilient mama is finally ready for a home where she can relax, feel safe, and be someone’s beloved best friend. She’s affectionate, loyal, incredibly patient, and has so much love to give once she trusts you. This sweet girl is happiest right by your side. Whether she’s lounging around the house, going for a walk, or greeting you with full-body wiggles and zoomies after you come home, Luna’s favorite thing in the world is simply being with her people. She’s wonderfully well-mannered in the home — fully potty trained, crate trained, and fantastic on leash. Luna walks beautifully beside you, enjoys casual strolls, and will even happily jog alongside you for a mile. She’s calm and unbothered by dogs while out on walks, though she prefers slow introductions and appreciates respectful canine companions who won’t overwhelm her. A mellow older dog could be a great match for her. With children, Luna is incredibly patient and gentle. She has done wonderfully with a young child, calmly moving away if play became too rough instead of reacting. She’s also very friendly with new people and loves having company over, greeting everyone with sweetness and wagging excitement. Luna is moderate energy overall — she enjoys a little backyard zoomie session before settling down for a cozy nap nearby. She loves toys, bones, and treats, though heavy-duty chew toys are definitely recommended because this girl can destroy the average toy in record time. The biggest thing Luna needs help with is separation anxiety. After everything she’s been through, being left alone is hard for her. She bonds deeply with her people and feels safest when she knows they’re nearby. Because of this, she would thrive with a patient adopter who understands anxious dogs and can continue helping her build confidence and security. A work-from-home household or someone with a flexible schedule would be ideal. Luna isn’t just looking for a home — she’s looking for someone willing to love her through her healing journey. In return, she’ll give you unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and the kind of companionship that only a truly grateful rescue dog can offer. If you’re searching for a gentle, loving companion with a huge heart and an inspiring story, Luna may be your perfect match. Please note our process starts with an application. Story
Opal is a three-year-old Goldendoodle that is ready to find her forever family. Opal and her sister Ruby are a bonded pair who we'd love to adopt together. They are currently in a foster home together and wherever one is - the other is never far away. These two doodle bops have been together their whole lives, for two years before coming to the shelter, they lived in a kennel on a farm. They were very shy and shut down, but have come a long long way since coming to us. They still can be a bit nervous at first, but they warm up so beautifully. They are good with other dogs and cats, and are currently fostered with an 8 year old child. These two doodles bring oodles of fun, joy and love to their foster family - and we know they can to your family, too! They'd do best with a fenced in yard.
