Story
Naomi is a 9 month old black lab mix pup. She originally lived outside in a farm until a foster family took her in, and then she made the trip north from Arkansas to Minnesota in hopes of finding her forever family! Naomi gets along with everyone. She is a young, playful, goofy girl. She loves bones and treats of all kinds. She has a long, lean body and is very athletic. She would make a fantastic running buddy. Naomi is potty trained, however, she will not go to the bathroom while on a leash. She needs an area outside where she can go to the bathroom off leash. Naomi sleeps in a crate at night, but is given free roam in the house during the day. If her foster family has to leave for a couple of hours, she does get a little upset to be left alone. She will bark at first, but eventually settles down and sleeps. She has not been destructive at all when left alone - just a little loud! Apartment living is probably not the best situation for her right now due to this. Naomi also seems to be calmer with other dogs around, so a home with another dog would be ideal, but not necessary. She loves to play and wrestle with her foster dog brother! Naomi has a lot of love to give. She will be a fantastic companion and would thrive with someone who can give her a consistent routine and is interested in training. If you think Naomi would be a good match for you, please come meet her! Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org. Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forest is a wonderful work in progress. He is a mixed breed guy who has been with us since Dec., 2021. We didn't put him up for adoption right away as he was very shy and shutdown. Some of our wonderful volunteers have been working with him, taking baby steps, and we think he's ready to transition into a forever home. However it will have to be a very special, secure, and patient home. Forest has been fully vetted and his fee of $125 is sponsored. Forest originally came to rescue from a Reservation in South Dakota. He was on the run for quite a while before he was live trapped. He's a mature adult who could now be close to 7 years old. He is still extremely shy but responds well to treats and kind words. He's learning to go for walks and enjoys it. We think he would be okay with a well mannered, somewhat confident dog. Due to his shy nature, he's looking for an experienced ADULT only home (teens are fine). We have no way of knowing about cats. SECURELY FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tootsie, the goldendoodle with a tale as fluffy as her coat! This little lady had a rocky start, but with a little time and trust, she's blossomed into a loving companion. Tootsie's not one for the limelight; she's more of a backstage kind of pup. Her real passion lies in the company of her furry friends. Yep, Tootsie's all about the pups, not so much the humans. Tootsie's perfect match? A home complete with a fenced yard over 4 feet tall and a doggie friend for companionship. What else does Tootsie need? a quiet environment to call her own, and a family who gets her – boundaries and all. If you're thinking of bringing Tootsie home, you'll need more than just love; you'll need a deep understanding of her unique needs. Tootsie's not your average pup, but for the right family, she's the missing piece to the puzzle.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
*Foster or Foster to Adopt Only at this time. Please reach out or submit an application for more information.*Have you ever heard of Golden hour? Well, I like to call it Goldie hour, because every hour with me will be the best hour of your day! Hi, my name is Goldie and I am a female, 7-year-old, Cream Golden Retriever Mix. I can be just a bit slow to warm up, but I can be convinced to be your best friend with just a few treats. I love being around people, so I would love to find a family that is able to be home with me the majority of the time. If you would like to spend your days lounging around the house with me, please submit an application so we can meet in person! I do not have much experience around young kids or other animals, so it would be great if I could go to a quieter home.
