Story
Dunne, which is pronounced “Dune,” is a very special boy who made the journey all the way from Afghanistan to come live in Minnesota. He is a sweet, gentle, 50 pound golden mix born 1/1/22. He is starting to adjust to his new surroundings and has learned so much in the last few weeks. Poor boy has not had much for socialization, we are working with him but needs more time to learn to "be a dog" we recommend he is the only dog for a while. Dunne loves to be around his people so much that being kenneled is hard for him. He is not a fan of the kennel, he gets calming treats when we have to leave or when he has to be in his kennel. He loves car rides and loves to be brushed and pet. He nudges your hand for neck scratches. He also loves getting a bath. He is very concerned about pleasing others and is easily trained.  He has a very mild, sweet disposition with a low energy level. He would probably love a doggie companion to help show him how cool it is to be a dog in the USA. He will be a dedicated companion with lots of love to give. Dunne is a blank canvas and would love to have a person that will love him and teach him how to be the dog he knows he wants to be.   We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I’m Gypsy! I am a golden retriever mix who’s at that golden age stage where I’m not as active as a puppy but not as slow as a senior. I am about 3yrs old (10/2021). Unfortunately, through no fault of my own, I was bounced around a bit between different owners, so I haven’t had a stable home yet. But that’s where YOU come in! I’m hoping my sweet golden eyes with entice you to welcome me into your home forever. With my past of being bounced around, I do have some anxiety (more so in a kennel for long periods) but I do take a daily anxiety medication that helps. Just put it in a pill pocket and I’ll gobble it right up with my morning meal. This HAS to be given EVERY morning. It is NOT a medication that can be given every so often or to be stopped suddenly on. My foster mom highly, highly recommends that I stay on it life long due to the unstable rough beginning I have had. I love playing with toys, kids, and other dogs. I have been known to be more of a dominant female, but only to some female dogs. I like to sniff cats at first, but then will completely ignore them. I ride great in a car – I love looking out the windows! I am crate trained (although may whine a little at the start knowing you’re going) & house trained. I am a great mix of calm and activity, as you see I will cuddle with you on the couch during the movie times but also would love to have zoomies in a yard or go for a run. Won’t you please be my forever?  I would be yours forever as long as I'm Your brown-eyed girl Do you remember when we used to sing? Story
This is Hazey, a 5-year-old female golden retriever weighing about 60 pounds. Until she was rescued by NDLB, her entire life was spent being bred. As a result, Hazey is very scared of people; she tries her absolute hardest to be invisible. Hazey willingly spends almost the whole day in her kennel, viewing it as her safe place. Getting her out of the kennel takes some maneuvering, but then she will walk outside to go potty. So far, she hasn’t had any accidents in the house or her kennel. To get her back inside, you will likely have to carry her. Hazey gets very scared while on a leash. This makes her a flight risk and, as such, a fully fenced and secure yard is required. Hazey currently lives with two dogs (45 & 70 pounds). She isn’t too interested in them at the moment; however, it is strongly recommended that Hazey go to a home with a well-adjusted dog to show her the ropes. This sweet, beautiful girl needs time to decompress and adjust to her new life after years of neglect. If you are someone with a big heart and lots of patience, please apply! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Jessie, a 2 year old Golden Retriever/Poodle mix.  Jessie has been through so much in her past and has made quick and excellent progress in a very short time!  She has been great with the cat in her foster home. She also did a great job with her foster family's two young neighbor children who wanted to pet her.  She has a fairly good appetite, a little particular about what food she likes.  Jessie has been getting better with giving her foster family a clue that she needed to go out the the backyard to go number two. When taken out, they take her on a long leash (being a breeder release, her foster family wants to make extra sure she stays safe). She will need patience with her potty breaks, as she will circle several times and it can take up to 5 minutes and then when she feels comfortable, she will go. However, she continues to make significant progress! Her foster family is working on making her comfortable with loud and certain noises such as the vacuum, pots, pans, etc. Jessie went for her first car ride without the kennel recently and did great! She really seemed to enjoy riding in the back seat of the truck. She is a pretty good walker on the leash. She really, really loves her foster mom, so much so that she may cry and bark at night while in her kennel when she is out of sight. Jessie recently had her grooming session and with her matted coat now shaved away, she is now showing signs that she wants to run around and start playing with toys! She met the neighbor's respectful senior dog recently and they really liked each other. Jessie was trying to engage in some sort of play with her. She loves her humans, and is an absolute sweetheart!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Norma Rae is a 2-year-old Goldendoodle who is thrilled to be living her best life after spending her early years with a breeder.  She came to rescue a bit of a matted mess, but it didn’t break her spirit.  She learned quickly that humans were on her side, and she absolutely thrives on just a little love and attention.  She has had professional grooming and excellent veterinary care and is now learning the ropes of indoor family life.  Norma gets along very well with everyone – kids, adults, all the other dogs, cats, and chickens.  This girl is all love! She has been learning quickly from her foster family, and especially from the dogs in her foster home.  Norma is doing well on house training.  She has never soiled her crate and has only had a couple of accidents in the house.  She’s still learning how to give more noticeable cues when she needs to go outside.  The few accidents she has had were when we didn’t quite understand what she was trying to tell us – with careful attention and consistent practice she should have this down in no time. Norma does well on a leash, and we continue to practice this with daily walks.  She has been on a tie-out at her foster home and has done well.  She would love a fenced yard or her own but would be fine without one as long as she could take a walk or two each day. Like most breeder releases, Norma is mildly cautious when first meeting people.  Even after she is comfortable with humans, she is still a little afraid at times – especially if she senses she might be in trouble (like after she has an accident in the house), and she will keep her distance until she knows she is safe.  Lots of loving reassurance helps with this.  While she would love to curl up on a sofa or bed, she also likes to sleep in a kennel and will “kennel up” on command.  She’s quiet all night and won’t make a sound until the rest of the household is awake.   She doesn’t bark a lot, primarily when other dogs in the home are doing so.  Norma is still learning new things daily but she is an eager student especially when treats are involved.  Her favorite treat is little bits of chopped hot dog.  Her favorite toy is anything that squeaks.  She is in her absolute glory, running around with a toy in her mouth, demonstrating how it works to everyone who will listen.  This girl is a total sweetheart who will bring years of joy and companionship to a family.  She would do well with all ages and could be fine in a smaller home or apartment.  She is young enough to adjust to nearly any type of living situation, yet well past the puppy stage.  If that sounds like what you are looking for, you’ve got to meet Norma Rae!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Strudel and her brother Noodle were dumped in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are high energy puppies and are very loving. They want to play with everything... goats, cows, people, other dogs and cats (so dog savvy cats would be best). They will be altered prior to adoption however before that happens they will be available for foster or foster to adopt. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.  Strudel is a chill puppy. She is shy at first but will open up in no time. She is potty trained and working on kennel training and leash walking. She is a Velcro dog always nearby and quick with a nose to your side if attention is needed immediately. She gets along with other dogs, cats and children.  First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit in Buffalo, MN in January.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 4:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi I'm  Candycorn !  I'm a beautiful lady who came into rescue with some secret cargo in my tummy.  I was a good mama and raised my babies and sent them all on to new homes.  Now it's my turn!  With new people and in new places I'll admit I get nervous and I either find a safe corner to hide in or I'll possibly bark.  At home with my foster mama where I'm familiar with things I'm a completely different dog.  I have the bestest happy smile, my tail doesn't stop wagging and I get the cutest dance and zoomies.  I gently jump against my fosters mamas leg so she can give me hugs and kisses.  Sometimes I kiss back!  When she stops I gently put my paw on her arm so she knows I want more.  I also love when she gives me chin and cheek scratches and I should probably mention tummy rubs are great too.     I get along great with all dogs and like to chase and wrestle when they're my friends.  I would do best having a doggie sibling in my new home so they can help me learn the routine in my new home and help me be more confident.     At home I am learning to walk on leash.  It's going great since I trust my foster mom.  It's fun jumping around in the grass and feeling the sun shine down on my face and the wind in my fur.  I haven't pottied on leash yet for her, but I do know that I should do all my business a fenced area so I do request one in my home.   I am kennel trained and I never potty in it.  I'm too smart for that!  I'm usually quiet in it too.  I know it's a safe spot when I need it too, though I prefer to be out hanging around my mom's feet instead.  When she's working I'm usually laying under her desk close to her in case she needs me.  You get treats there and pets haha!   I really like toys!  The soft ones are my favorite to chew on. I never had toys before rescue. I don't always like to share them, but I've learned mom will trade me for them and she'll gently play tug of war with me.     I haven't met any kids yet, but I think I'd be ok with older respectful kids who would be kind and gentle with me.  Fast movement and loud noises are overwhelming and I don't want to get scared and have to run and hide.  A quiet home where I can be a spoiled princess would be awesome.     Come and meet me and I promise you'll find that with a little time to learn that I'm safe and can trust you with my heart that you'll find a loving and loyal family member in me that will love you unconditionally! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
Welcome Bluebell to CCPAL Rescue. She is an Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix is our best guess. She weighs about 65 pounds. She is 4 years old. She is pretty good on the leash and is very affectionate. She is definitely a people person and likes strangers. She has one blue eye and one golden brown eye. She has the feathering of the Golden Retriever. She is potty trained and she does good with other dogs. She likes car rides and she has some nice commands under her belt. She knows sit, down, stay and takes treats nicely. She is in a home with a wonderful family that now has to take care of their older mom with dementia. Bluebell is a little big and young for an older lady with dementia so Bluebell needs to find a better home that has time to spend with her walking, jogging and hiking. Bluebell is good with other dogs and she will make an active family a great companion. Her long legs would make her good at keeping stride with a jogger. She is not over the top active and likes to rest and be affectionate as well. She would be fine with a moderately active family. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older She is healthy and has had her year long heart guard shot. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Anya!  I'm a sweet little lady who is looking for a patient and loving family who will love me for who I am and help me continue to find out who I will become.  You see, when I first came into rescue I was terrified of people.  My foster mama took things slow to gain my trust and now I follow her around to see what she's doing. The look of fear I had is now happy and curious most of the time.  I'd do best in a quiet home with no kids.  Their sudden movements and noises would be too scary for me and I don't want to have to hide.  I want to be able to follow you around so I can see what you're doing.  I'm doing well with being held and gentle scratches from my foster mama.  I know I can trust her.  I will admit I sometimes still get overwhelmed when approached and might potty myself.  When she needs to pick me up she says ready and scoops in me close to her.  Oddly enough, I like being groomed.  I'm good in the tub, stay still when she towel dries me and I'm not scared of the hair dryer.  I even seem to enjoy being brushed.  Maybe I just like being pampered haha!  I haven't figured out toys though I watch others with them.  I do need a secure yard and I know I'm supposed to do my business out there. I'm still working on the potty training though. I do also need a confident doggie friend that I can follow so I can learn the routine in my new home. Don't worry because I'm smart and catch on pretty quick. When I'm with my doggie friends outside I'm like a totally different dog.  I'm all smiles and carefree and will wrestle and do zoomies with any dog.  My kennel is my safe place and I will pop in and out of it during the day.  If the door is closed I feel a bit more confident and will give a little huff like I'm saying this is my space.  Don't worry because I'm actually a gentle little lamb that wouldn't hurt a fly.  If you have room in your heart and are kind and patient and willing to help me continue my journey into becoming who I was meant to be, then I'll take a breath and do my best to be brave when we meet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   **Seeking a foster for Melberg, preferrably with a 6 foot fence or situation that can keep him safe, but exercised.*** Melberg is a sweet male English Setter. He is about 4- 5 years old and is good with other dogs. Has shown no aggression. Melberg is a big lover, loves people and wants to be around you, gives hugs, likes to be near.We have the feeling that Melberg was probably cooped up a lot in his past.
