Story
Meet Stormy, a nearly 9-year-old retriever mix with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible to resist. While he may not be the typical ball-chasing retriever, Stormy excels in the art of relaxation, preferring short walks, long naps, and hours of sunbathing in the yard. His calm demeanor and food-motivated nature make him an easy companion for someone seeking a low-maintenance, laid-back friend. Though his retriever instincts may not apply to toys, they come to life when treats are involved—he listens well and responds beautifully to reward-based training. Stormy does come with a few manageable quirks, such as his allergies (corn being one of them), which are kept in check with daily Benadryl and occasional Apoquel. He’s also a champ at tolerating baths, paw washes, and ear cleanings, especially if treats are involved! While he may need a gentle reminder now and then to curb his begging or excitement, he’s eager to please and quick to follow simple commands. Stormy gets along well with other dogs in his foster home and is wonderfully easy to walk on a leash, making him an ideal companion for any lifestyle. One of Stormy’s most endearing qualities is his subtle “talking” bark, a quiet sound to capture your attention, whether he wants to go outside or simply needs a little love. He also has an adorable morning routine with happy stretches and wiggles that belie his senior status. He gets a little anxious around delivery trucks or the front door but has made great progress in training and responds well to commands like “quiet,” especially when treats are involved. With a little patience and understanding, Stormy will continue to thrive in a calm and loving home. This sweet senior is happiest when he’s lounging near his humans, receiving a good butt scratch, or spending time in his kennel, where he’ll willingly go when tired. Regardless, he brings a sense of peace to every room he inhabits. Whether you have other pets or are looking for a solo companion, Stormy is ready to fill your home with warmth, loyalty, and quiet charm. If you’re seeking a devoted, easygoing friend who will greet you every day with quiet joy, Stormy might just be your perfect match. Want to learn more? Story
Hi! My name is Stripe and I am from Alabama. Stripe is the strongest little dog I've ever met. Let's do the basics first he is home trained. He is very food motivated so I am assuming he will be easy to train. He does like to counter serve but I assume that is because he had to be a scavenger for quite a while. He is such a loving boy. Against all odds, he is a survivor and he has a strong heart. He is recovering nicely from mange and from having his leg amputated. He gets along with my dog wonderfully. He hardly barks. He sometimes goes in his grade reluctantly, but I just throw a couple treats in there and then he hops in there. I don't know if you want all of his health problems he's not neutered , he's heartworm positive and he's recovering from heaven his right front leg amputated. His hair is growing back nicely. He is one of the most easiest Fosters I have had. I love him to death. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. From his foster: Stripe is a champion. He had his front right leg amputated because it was broken. He is recovering from mange and is looking pretty handsome. He is healing nicely and such a trooper. Stripe has one light blue eye, and one gold eye, which has a little white spot, a little off center of the iris. Stripe is soaking up pets and cuddles. He is a counter surfer though even with three legs we are working on that. He is learning to sit. he is heartworm positive and will be starting his treatment soon. Also, he needs to be neutered. He is always happy when I greet him in the morning or I come home from work. He gets along with my resident dog wonderfully in fact they don't really bother each other. From the Vet: Hi! My name is Stripe, you may be wondering about my medical history given my good looks, so my friends and TBB Vet Center wanted to help me share a bit more about me. I was brought to TBB desperately needing ongoing vet care for several concerns. The most obvious was my severe demodex mange, this is a treatable condition caused by a parasitic mite, but it is not contagious to dogs or humans and can be controlled with monthly flea and tick prevention. Once this is under control my skin will start to clear up! The second most obvious need was my very broken and infected compound fracture on my front right leg. The specialty surgery team came right away and helped me get rid of that mess. I'm sure I will live long and happy on my 3 remaining legs! Beyond that I will still need to go through heartworm treatment (series of 3 injections) and a dental procedure with likely extractions needed. My adopters can rest assured that TBB will cover both of these medical needs in my adoption contract + 1 round of medications associated with each visit. We can't wait to see what I look like when I'm all healed up and settled in my forever home. Could you be that home? Hope to meet you soon!!

Story
Meet Truffles! Truffles is an adorable & exuberant 7 month old puppy with huge stick up bat signal ears. When not receiving transmissions, her giant receivers crisscross atop her head. She loves long walks on her leash, zooming, playing with balls & stuffies, tug-of-war and of course, cuddling. She has a genetic condition that requires a bit of extra time & special steps at meals. She has a custom chair that allows her to eat in an upright position. Truffles eagerly gets into her chair as she is quite food motivated. She is intelligent, active, affectionate, and eager to please. She is ideal for an active family or individual. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi I'm  Candycorn !  I'm a beautiful lady who came into rescue with some secret cargo in my tummy.  I was a good mama and raised my babies and sent them all on to new homes.  Now it's my turn!  With new people and in new places I'll admit I get nervous and I either find a safe corner to hide in or I'll possibly bark.  At home with my foster mama where I'm familiar with things I'm a completely different dog.  I have the bestest happy smile, my tail doesn't stop wagging and I get the cutest dance and zoomies.  I gently jump against my fosters mamas leg so she can give me hugs and kisses.  Sometimes I kiss back!  When she stops I gently put my paw on her arm so she knows I want more.  I also love when she gives me chin and cheek scratches and I should probably mention tummy rubs are great too.     I get along great with all dogs and like to chase and wrestle when they're my friends.  I would do best having a doggie sibling in my new home so they can help me learn the routine in my new home and help me be more confident.     At home I am learning to walk on leash.  It's going great since I trust my foster mom.  It's fun jumping around in the grass and feeling the sun shine down on my face and the wind in my fur.  I haven't pottied on leash yet for her, but I do know that I should do all my business a fenced area so I do request one in my home.   I am kennel trained and I never potty in it.  I'm too smart for that!  I'm usually quiet in it too.  I know it's a safe spot when I need it too, though I prefer to be out hanging around my mom's feet instead.  When she's working I'm usually laying under her desk close to her in case she needs me.  You get treats there and pets haha!   I really like toys!  The soft ones are my favorite to chew on. I never had toys before rescue. I don't always like to share them, but I've learned mom will trade me for them and she'll gently play tug of war with me.     I haven't met any kids yet, but I think I'd be ok with older respectful kids who would be kind and gentle with me.  Fast movement and loud noises are overwhelming and I don't want to get scared and have to run and hide.  A quiet home where I can be a spoiled princess would be awesome.     Come and meet me and I promise you'll find that with a little time to learn that I'm safe and can trust you with my heart that you'll find a loving and loyal family member in me that will love you unconditionally! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a    particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Welcome Bluebell to CCPAL Rescue. She is an Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix is our best guess. She weighs about 65 pounds. She is 4 years old. She is pretty good on the leash and is very affectionate. She is definitely a people person and likes strangers. She has one blue eye and one golden brown eye. She has the feathering of the Golden Retriever. She is potty trained and she does good with other dogs. She likes car rides and she has some nice commands under her belt. She knows sit, down, stay and takes treats nicely. She is in a home with a wonderful family that now has to take care of their older mom with dementia. Bluebell is a little big and young for an older lady with dementia so Bluebell needs to find a better home that has time to spend with her walking, jogging and hiking. Bluebell is good with other dogs and she will make an active family a great companion. Her long legs would make her good at keeping stride with a jogger. She is not over the top active and likes to rest and be affectionate as well. She would be fine with a moderately active family. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older She is healthy and has had her year long heart guard shot. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
