Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Forest is a wonderful work in progress. He is a mixed breed guy who has been with us since Dec., 2021. We didn't put him up for adoption right away as he was very shy and shutdown. Some of our wonderful volunteers have been working with him, taking baby steps, and we think he's ready to transition into a forever home. However it will have to be a very special, secure, and patient home. Forest has been fully vetted and his fee of $125 is sponsored. Forest originally came to rescue from a Reservation in South Dakota. He was on the run for quite a while before he was live trapped. He's a mature adult who could now be close to 7 years old. He is still extremely shy but responds well to treats and kind words. He's learning to go for walks and enjoys it. We think he would be okay with a well mannered, somewhat confident dog. Due to his shy nature, he's looking for an experienced ADULT only home (teens are fine). We have no way of knowing about cats. SECURELY FENCED YARD REQUIRED. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
Lady, a charming and calm dog, who arrived in Minnesota on Friday, November 29th, from a shelter in Missouri. She didn't get much visibility there, and people have been missing out on her and delightful personality. Lady is the perfect combination of sweetness and spunk! She is a medium to low energy dog. She has a calm demeanor but is also playful and would thrive in any home. Her joyful personality shines brightest in the fenced yard, where she loves zooming around and playing chase with the other dogs. She adores kids and wants to be near all the kids at the adoption events. She's a social butterfly with her humans but even more so with kids. She would adore having kids and other humans to play with, teaching her to play ball and engaging in playtime. After she's all zoomed out, she's happy to claim that empty spot on the couch for some well-deserved cuddle and nap time. She will also go into her kennel and lay down for naps on her own. Lady makes the perfect work from home buddy too. She will happily curl up under your desk wrapping herself up on your feet keeping those tootsies cozy warm. Potty training is underway, and she’s making good progress! She’s learning to use pee pads and goes outside on a regular schedule. Her foster mom takes her out every couple of hours to help establish consistency. To ensure her continued success, she’ll need to maintain a regular routine. As with any transition, some accidents are to be expected as she adjusts to her new environment. Although we were told Lady might be shy, she has proven otherwise. The moment she arrived, she eagerly approached everyone she met, soaking up all the attention, love, and pets she could get. She's a total love bug who thrives on being around people. Did I already say this little Lady absolutely adores those little humans? Lady has already settled in beautifully just check out her photos! She gets along wonderfully with my resident dogs and other fosters. Even the cat doesn't bother her one bit! She's ready to bring endless love and laughter to her forever home. Don't waste any time getting your application submitted for this little gem! Missouri's loss is Minnesota's gain! Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org Adoption fee is $300 plus tax.
