Story
I`m in a FOSTER HOME! If you`d like to meet me, please email my foster parent at kevinmwalker@gmail.com. Get ready to welcome Piccolo, the sweetest pup around, who loves people and pups! This super friendly lovebug gets along very well with other pups - he loves playing with and snoozing next to his foster brother and has been friendly with every dog he`s met when he`s out and about. He also loves people and gives enthusiastic wiggles when meeting humans of all sizes! Piccolo is playful and active - he loves toys and has a standing zoomie `appointment` after his walks - but he`s content to snuggle or nap on the couch the rest of the day. Piccolo would thrive with a person or family able to give him regular walks, playtime and snuggles! While he`s making progress with crate training, he`s also able to be left alone outside the crate without exhibiting any destructive tendencies. He also has excellent leash manners when walking.

Story
Please contact Jodi Rosenberg (jodi.rosenberg@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.is not blue! is happy boy! BLUE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Blue         Best Guess for Breed: Golden retriever mix Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of January 2025   SEX: Male  Approximate Weight:  42 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rican shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get here on a freedom flight on February 22.   Special adoption considerations:  Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Blue would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Blue is Looking For:   Woof! I'm a sato - a street dog from Puerto Rico. I'd like to say I *was* a sato - I would like to be known as a beloved family dog. I'm seeking my own humans for long sniffy walks - the smells in the DC area are going to be so different! - romps in parks - and all the adventures they can dream up. Going to dog school is on my wish list as well, so I can show how super smart I am.    Most of all, I want to know I'm safe and loved and where I belong. To bestow upon my new family adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship. What do you say? Can you see me by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Saphire (suh-fear) is the most loving and patient dog. Seriously, her human kids have played with her and pretended she was a horse many times and she loved every second of the attention she got. She has no problems having a lazy day but absolutely loves playing fetch and chasing squirrels. She has currently caught two squirrels so far. Yes, she is very proud of herself for that. She is obedient and understands several commands. Unfortunately, she does get seizures every once in a while. Taking her to an ER is not needed for the seizure. She comes out of them fairly easily. She has been seen by a neurologist for them and has since concluded that there is nothing that can be done for them besides putting her on seizure medications. The medication is a twice a day pill and very affordable. ($25/mo) We love her so much and it pains us to have to rehome her, however, we cannot take her overseas with us. She will thrive better with a family or home with a large yard for running.

I'm a young girl full of energy and curiosity, and I've got this great knack for making friends, whether they're two-legged or four. I've been told I'm sweet and friendly, and I think that's true - I love to wag my tail and give kisses. I'm also pretty smart. I know where to do my business and I'm always eager to learn new tricks. As a rescued pup, I've learned a lot about resilience and kindness, but what I'm really looking forward to is a home of my own. A place where I can share my love and loyalty with a family who'll cherish me as much as I'll cherish them. So, why should you adopt me? Because I promise to be your best friend, your loyal companion, your ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Why not fill out an application today; I can't wait to meet you! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
