Story
Hi there! My name is Rose, and I'm a 1-year-old retriever with a lot of love and energy to share. I came here because my previous owner couldn't take care of me anymore due to health reasons. Now, I'm eagerly looking for a new family who can keep up with my playful spirit and give me all the love I deserve. I'm known to be a bit of a goofball and very hyper. I love to be the boss around here, but don't let that fool you - I'm incredibly lovable too. I do great with kids and other dogs, but I haven't had any experience with cats, so I'm not sure how I'd do around them. Sticks are my favorite toys, and I can spend hours playing with them! However, I can be a bit destructive when left alone for too long, so I could use some patience and positive reinforcement to help me learn to behave when I'm by myself. Storms are pretty scary for me, and baths aren't exactly my favorite either - I can be a little tough to get in and out of the car, but once we're on our way, I do alright. On walks, I have medium energy and sometimes follow commands. I don't know many tricks yet, but I'm eager to learn! Sometimes, I chase after birds, and I can be a bit fearful of my surroundings, but with your support, I know I can become more confident. When we're out and about, I might seem timid at times and stop to check on you often, but that's just because I need a little reassurance. I love giving hugs, especially when I'm feeling scared. Despite my fears, I did very well with other dogs during walks and was super excited to come back to the shelter after our outings. If you're looking for a lovable, energetic, and goofy companion who's ready to learn and grow with you, I'm your girl. I need a family who can be patient with me and help me feel safe and loved. Let's make each other's lives brighter!

Meet Bo: The Golden Mix Master of Fun! Hey there, potential forever family! My name is Bo and I am a 5-year-old male dog, currently in search of a new home. You see, I was found as a stray, but don't let that fool you. I may have been wandering the streets, but I am ready to settle down and be your loyal companion! Let's talk appearance first. People often comment on my striking good looks, and I must admit, I do have a certain charm about me. I am a Golden mix, but I like to think I'm one of a kind. My coat is soft and fluffy, perfect for cuddles. Now, onto the important stuff: my personality. I've been called an alpha, but really, I just know what I want and go after it. I may be independent, but I am also a constant companion. Whether you're lounging on the couch or going on a hike, I'll be by your side, ready for some fun. Speaking of fun, let's talk activity level. I am a ball of energy, always ready to play and explore. I hope you have a backyard for me to run around in, or maybe we can take long walks together. I promise to keep you on your toes and make life more exciting! I must mention, I am a bit selective when it comes to other dogs. I prefer to be the only furry friend in the household, but I am more than enough to keep you entertained, I promise. So, what do you say? Ready to bring some love and laughter into your life? Come meet me and let's see if we're a match made in doggy heaven. I can't wait to find my forever home and show you all the love and happiness I have to offer. See you soon!

Story
Rowdy!    DOB: 10/2019     Weight: 60lbs   Rowdy is a 4 year old Golden Retriever mix who was surrendered to us after his owner died. He’s spent his entire life as a yard decoration on the end of a chain in the yard. So at first he wasn’t the biggest fan of us and would growl and get snappy. He’s gotten a lot better though. He’s met plenty of new people and gets out to go for walks with volunteers. He’s usually quiet in his kennel run, stands and observes. He’s not all that interested in treats, but he does like a good squeaky toy and some yard time. He is house trained! He was adopted and returned recently due to being protective over his family members. he needs to be put up when guests come over and worked with to accept people.  His adoption fee is $175. That helps us to cover worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm test, and microchip. We offer a 2-3 week trial. If interested in adopting him please fill out an application on our website. https://www.newliferescues.org***YOU MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION BEFORE WE DO ANY MEET AND GREETS. QUESTIONS? CONTACT pcpoundpuppies1@gmail.com Our standard adoption fee is $175 ($250 for puppies 6 months and under, or small dogs 20lbs or below) which covers a portion of the dog's vetting costs. The adoption process includes the completion of an application followed by an interview. Click here to submit an adoption application:
