Story
Meet Sunny short for Sunflower. She is believed to be a bloodhound shepherd mix possibly retriever. a year old at most. Sunny was pulled from a local shelter Christmas of 2021 after a hoarding abandonment case of 27 plus fearful feral dogs left behind in a property. The home was condemned, disgusting filthy. A home in such condition, no animal or human should have to live in. Sunny and 3 others call the sanctuary home for the time being, all are doing amazing with their rehab, learning what life as a loved pet should be. Sunny struggles to settle in and takes more time then the others. She is the one that stresses easily when meeting new people but with a playful active dog mentoring her she does so much better. She slowly warms up some when it comes to people, still unsure if she wants human affection at first but will always take a treat, moves in for petting, willing to snuggle and even cuddle. Sunny loves all the dogs, is good with cats and small critters too. A 100% secured fenced in yard is a must, A home with other pets is required. At least 1 other balance playful, outgoing dog for her to follow/gravitate toward. Sunny has an amazing personality she herself is still learning about who she is. Always best to approach her slow at first. Sunny needs a lot of confidence still, and that requires a lot of patience with no set time frame and expectations ever. Allow her to live life 1 day at a time. Sunny walks amazing on leash, barks very little but barks. is very playful, loves treats, and eventually settles in. Sunny is house and crate trained, up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, de-wormed, fecal tested negative, micro-chipped, neutered, and on monthly heart-worm flea/tick prevention. Story
Nala became apart of my family when she was just a little baby. She’s a very energetic, sweet and happy dog who loves attention. Unfortunately with my busy schedule I can’t give Nala enough attention that she needs as a puppy. I want to give her a good family that will give her the attention that she needs and more than that, a loving home. Some things about Nala: - She is partially potty trained, she understands the term “outside” and will let you know when she needs to go potty. But she does need a little work on how to hold her bladder. - She’s a big cuddler and will snuggle with you all night until you get up in the morning. - She is very social not just with dogs, but with children, cats and anyone that crosses her path. - She knows the words “Outside”, “Sit” and “Off” but may need help remembering them at times. Overall, Nala is a smart, sweet and loving dog that needs the perfect environment where she can grow and become who she needs to be in a warmhearted household.

Story
Layla is a very pretty Goldendoodle who came to Misty Eyes from a puppy mill, where she was a breeding machine. She is somewhat shy and anxious at first. Despite her fear and anxiety, Layla is good natured and friendly, once she relaxes. She gets along with other dogs well and enjoys back scratches and ear rubs. Layla will need continued training to overcome her fear of entering and exiting the car and to understand what life as a family dog is all about. She has made great strides on leash walking, trusting and following humans with practiced commands. She is crate/potty trained. She has experience being around various dogs, cats, and children. She thrives with a confident dog companion, following their cues to learn dog life. Because of her anxiety, Layla is a flight risk, so will need to be treated with extra caution until she feels comfortable in her new life. Due to her extreme anxiety and inclination to flee, Layla will need a securely fenced yard and an adopter who can commit to working with her to overcome her fear. She may never be an extremely social dog, but can be a great companion to her immediate family and familiar friends. If you have the patience and willingness to help Layla achieve her potential, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication
