Story
Are you loooking for a sweet ride or die? Look no further. Butch is a delightful friend and SO SMART!  Rescued from a tethered hell. Butch languished for months on a cable tether. He was not fed well and he was taunted... treated like a vicious beast. He was frustated and anxious. Afraid and alone. Within moments of meeting him, we saw something different. We spent time sitting on the stoop, tossing him bits of our lunch. Eventually he settled enough to start catching the bits we tossed him. We then asked him to sit. And HE DID.  How were we to believe this was a bad dog? He is a good dog that has been treated badly. We have had him for a couple weeks now and he is a new man. He is a big sweet, intelligent goof ball. He has started playing and loves to go for truck rides. He uses his nose to move your hand if he needs something. He is just amazing. He is not a purebred Golden retriever but he is SO GOLDEN! He is not recommended around small children, small animals or other dogs. He is intitailly distrusting of strangers but warms up to kindness quickly.  He weighed 75 pounds when rescued and was VERY thin! He will likelt be a 100 pound dog when he is fully filled out! We have videos on our facebook that share the progression of his rescue. Just Search "BUTCH" in out facebook page.  We have just a few volunteers and there is a week or two turnaround for adoption applications. If you cannot find our adoption application, please text our director for a link: Aspen (352)843-6858 ##1366256##

Story
Hi, I'm Valentino. I'm on the lookout for a loving, patient, and calm family to call my own. Having a confident canine friend by my side and a fenced yard is a sure way to make me one happy pup and help me truly blossom. Though I'm a bit hesitant initially, I'm genuinely interested in people and all the love they have to offer. With the right family and a furry friend, I know I can become the affectionate companion you've been searching for.

Story
Goldie is the sweetest soul in puppy form that keeps us laughing every day. Goldie is intuitive and senses when people need her the most. She is curious about the world and loves to meet new faces of all breeds. Goldie is a fast learner and eager to please her people. For her perfect life, Goldie needs 3 things: a playful family (or fur siblings), someone to hug her back (she asks for hugs daily) and all the babies (stuffed animals) that can be found. Goldie will be the best addition to any family that loves to be active and will have the time to keep working with her on the basic commands she's started to learn. Goldie is coming close to being potty trained but still needs some work on her chewing (but she will take toys and chew bones all day!) She loves long walks but gets nervous with new things. It takes her a minute to trust, but when she does, you've won her over for life. Goldie is crate trained but prefers not to be crated at night. She prefers a dog bed right by you or on the big bed. We really want Goldie to have a fenced yard. Goldie is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and heartworm tested-negative. She is approximately a year and a half old and is a pure bred Golden Retriever. Yes, she has a big underbite, but it doesn't stop her from eating and playing with toys. She is being fostered in the Pensacola area. Her adoption fee is $400. *Please apply to adopt at www.saveourcockerspaniels.com** SOCKS adopts to families in Florida, Georgia, Southern Alabama, and southeastern Mississippi. If you are out of the state of Florida, you would need to travel to Florida to complete your adoption. Please note that we do check vet references, and your current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing, and be able to provide proof of purchase of heartworm prevention. All dogs and cats in your home must be spayed or neutered. We will not set up a meet and greet until your application has been received, reviewed, and approved. Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis. We will accept applications and then screen all and choose the best match. Only approved applicants will be contacted.
