Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 November 3, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
Emmy is high energy and has some anxiety but she is very sweet. She has been professionally trained in obedience and loves to play fetch. We recently have had two small children and no longer have the time to work her like she needs. She has had problems around other dogs with toy aggression so the new owner will need to be mindful of that.

Story
Meet Allison! Allison is a 3 year old "mini goldendoodle mix who was saved from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County. She was given up because she was no longer profitable as a breeder mama. The puppy mill used and abused Allison until they couldn't anymore and then reached out to us to take her off their hands. She had a very difficult life before coming to us, but she will never spend another day wanted for anything more than the love she can give. She will be cherished part of a family, and not a tool to make a greedy person lots of money. She will never have another bad day and we are honored to provide her this comfort in life. She will require a family who understands her past, and is patient with her as she transition to living life in a home and around kind people. Our mill mamas are always extremely special, and we promise you there is no love out there that compares to theirs! This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Please apply to be considered at our website www.angelsretreat.org! Allison Quick Facts: -She loves other dogs of all sizes -She is thriving in her foster home and never stops wagging her tail -She loves to sit on the couch with her foster family and curl up under a blanket

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.                           **The girls have unique requirements**  My beautiful Chessie/Lab sisters Cher & Sienna. (1) Must be adopted together, and the adoption fee is waived for one of them. They came from a previously severely abusive home when they were pups & (2) are waiting for the perfect family to come along that must have previous experience with abused dogs. Sorry -- no exceptions -- experience with abused dogs is mandatory. They are very sweet and gentle & love kind & tender attention. Cher & Sienna are very shy yet charming canines on a journey to find a patient parent(s) with a relaxed lifestyle. They are looking for someone who can offer gentle guidance to help them come out of her shell. If you treat them sweetly and kindly, they promises to blossom in your care.   Meet Our Shy but Sweet Canine Duo - Lab/Chessie Sisters Sienna and Cherry, our Lab/Chessie sisters, have had a challenging start in life. They require a special family with personal experience in caring for abused dogs. These pups have unique needs stemming from their traumatic past, akin to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Both Sienna and Cherry are on medication called Clonidine, which has significantly improved their well-being and is affordable at only $10 for 180 tablets from Walmart. Background Sienna and Cherry's journey began when they were rescued at the tender age of 5 months. They were starving and scared but have now transformed into beautiful and loving dogs under our care. Personality While initially shy, these sisters have charming personalities that shine through once they feel safe and loved. They yearn for an home that can provide patience and a relaxed lifestyle to help them fully recover from their past traumas. Requirements We are seeking a family with personal experience in caring for abused dogs. Sienna and Cherry need a family that understands their history and is committed to continuing their healing and trust-building journey. Physical Characteristics As of now, both dogs weigh around 75 lbs when fully grown. There are a few videos below so you can see how they react here in their foster home. Witness their incredible transformation in this video, from their first arrival as scared, starving pups to their thriving selves today.  How to Adopt If you have the love, patience, and experience to provide a forever home to these deserving Lab/Chessie sisters, please  read our adoption requirements & if you can meet or exceed them, you can apply online. Your kindness can help them fully embrace the loving life they deserve. Let's give these sisters the second chance they've been waiting for. Together, we can make their future brighter and full of love. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Please Note We have a strict requirement that they can only be adopted by a family with personal experience in caring for abused dogs. Our lovely Lab/Chessie sisters were abused in their previous lives in VA. While they've made great progress in their foster home, they are initially nervous around humans. However, with time and patience, they warm up and show no aggression, only a deep longing for trust and love. We accept Venmo, Zelle, PayPal & Credit Cards for the adoption fee.      About LNF Dogs/Puppies: All dogs and puppies have undergone temperament testing. They live in foster homes. They are housebroken (puppies are paper-trained) and crate trained. They have been microchipped for identification purposes. They have been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Lyme disease. Each dog is on year-round Heartworm medication while in the rescue's care. They are up-to-date with Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, and Leptospirosis vaccines. They have been wormed. Adoption Fee: The adoption fee includes 30 days of FREE pet insurance, with an option to purchase additional coverage. The rescue strives to provide the best medical care to ensure the health of the dogs, including spaying or neutering. Adoption Requirements: A minimum physical fence of 4 feet in height is mandatory and must be installed. Some dogs may require a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence, as noted in their profiles. Electric fences are not accepted under any circumstances. These requirements and procedures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of the adopted dogs and to provide potential adopters with healthy and well-cared-for pets. It's important for anyone interested in adopting from this rescue organization to meet these criteria and provide a suitable and safe environment for the dogs.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 12, 2024, 12:18 am
