Rescued from the Wind River Reservation at just 5 weeks old, she has grown into a loyal companion with plenty of personality. She is now seeking her perfect forever home, where she can feel safe, loved, and understood. Personality: June Carter is affectionate and playful with those she trusts. She has a strong bond with her foster mom but can be cautious and fearful around men. June enjoys outdoor adventures, snow play, and the company of other animals. She is crate-trained, knows basic commands, and loves learning through positive reinforcement. However, June has some resource-guarding tendencies with food and toys, so an experienced owner who can continue to work with her on this behavior would be ideal. Special Requirements: June Carter has hip dysplasia, which is managed with carprofen and fish oil supplements to support her joints. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard to accommodate her active nature and love for outdoor play. June is not suited for homes with children. Compatibility: June gets along well with cats and other dogs but needs a home where her resource-guarding behavior is understood and managed. At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days. Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold. Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee. **Dog/Puppy applications - Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient.
