Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 2/22/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Lacey to our trip for the right home 💕
Meet Lacey ❤️ She turns 2 on 2/27/25. ❤️ She is a goldendoodle. Yes, her coat is hypoallergenic so you won't have to worry about her shedding. She weighs 41 lbs. Yes, she is full grown and at a very healthy weight. She is just your smaller framed doodle ☺️ She is spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped had a dental cleaning, and a wonderful exam with our vet who has officially cleared her to find a home all her own 😊
She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in a crate at night. She sleeps peacefully through the whole night and is wonderful about it! She understands the crate completely and when we ask her to go in she never hesitates and always obliges. She is a very smart girl!
She is house trained and goes outside to use the restroom. She does like to be accompanied when outdoors, so we will sit with her outside on occasion while she uses this restroom so that we can hurry back inside (as she loves being indoors!)
She is doing very well on leash trained. It was really new to her coming to us, as her prior owners didn't do much outside of the home with her but she has definitely picked up on the concept of it and is currently working on staying by our side and not pulling. She isn't a big girl so it makes handling her much easier too.
She is wonderful with all dogs, but her true happiness comes from humans. She is a total people dog and you can see her entire heart light up when she is around you. You are her sole focus and she is so eager to please you even if all she gets is head rubs in return 😊 (for added brownie points, note down that belly rubs come in a strong second 🙃)
She is not a barker, but will alert you of unfamiliar noises. She is very well behaved in the home. She loves dog beds in or out of the crate and will lounge throughout the day on them, occasionally taking a midday snooze.
She is not your typical high energy, bouncing off he wal/s, crazy (spazzy) doodle. So don't let her breed mix fool you for one second!! She is all things we love in both breeds, mixed into one ❤️ She has a very calming nature to her, and you'll feel it the moment you meet her. She is beautifully natured, and tempered in every way that matters. She is a piece of your heart you didn't know was missing so allow her to make it whole again 💝
Her prior owners were moving and unfortunately couldn't take her with them. They said she started out as an indoor dog but slowly turned into an outdoor dog during the day as she matured. They admitted ti not staying committed to her training which is what ultimately led them to keeping her outdoors, only bringing her in at night to sleep. They would have taken her with them in their move, but knew that her living situation wouldn't change and instead of having her continue living outside (due to their own neglect) they reached out to us to take her in and find her a family who would take the time to work with her so she could have a much more fulfilling life than the life she had with them.
I'm glad she made it to us, because this beautiful soul will never know what it's like to be left alone again (as to why I believe she likes being accompanied outside, I truly believe she thinks we will leave her there and not let her back in again. It just breaks my heart how much she understands.)
If you have a warm spot in your home and extra space in your heart please consider opening up both to our beautiful girl Lacey ❤️❤️❤️ She is so incredibly affectionate and has one of the most grateful hearts we have seen here just to be in the presence of those she loves 💕
Her adoption fee in total is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/lacey
It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, dental cleaning which required additional anesthesia time, her antibiotic injection to aid in the healing of both her spay and dental, her exam with our vet, along with the care involved in the months she has been here with us, her grooming costs, and training we have personally done with her.
