Story
Molly, spayed female, 3.5-year-old, 49 Lbs. If you would like to give MOLLY a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Molly is a pretty girl, friendly and playful. She is a total cuddle bug when around familiar faces. It’ll take her a short while to overcome shyness when encountering strangers. Being a young pup, Molly is playful and curious; sometimes could be a bit rough while playing around young children or cats, though. Molly is a good car rider and has good table manners at meal time. She enjoys the company of other dogs. She’s potty trained to go outside or inside of the house on pee pad; crate trained to sleep overnight; not a barker or chewer when inside the house. Molly will do best for a family with another similar sized dog and backyard. Molly’s rescue story: The first encounter of Molly and the rescuer was when she’s enjoying her beach stroll. Molly was running among many visitors that day. Followed her around, the rescuer found out that Molly was being fed by members of the coastal guard temporarily since she came down from the neighboring mountain region. With the consent of the coaster guard, the rescuer took Molly for a checkup and proper immunization and then placed her under foster care to ready her for adoption. Story
Sammy is an amazing and resilient 3-year-old Golden Retriever. He is a very loving Golden to those who know and love him. Sammy is currently enrolled in an extended board-and-train program designed to help de-escalate reactivity with dogs, address home barriers, and manage interactions with strangers. He has really done well after 6 months, building confidence and reducing his reactivity to men and dogs. Sammy now has a pack of five doggie friends he plays with regularly. We have weaned him off the Reconcile, and his Golden personality is really beginning to shine through. Sammy's extensive training is really showing what Sammy's potential can be when loved and cared for daily. He will need an experienced owner who can provide consistent reinforcement and meet his needs. He is great on a leash and non-reactive to other dogs or men. With the introduction, he has a pack of doggie friends. If you are interested, we can coordinate a call with his trainer to learn more. Sammy is being fostered in San Jose.

Story
Kari is one of the 8 golden siblings (Elianas sister) that have all flown over last June. Shes the last one to find her forever home as shes still pretty timid and very hesitant to walk on leash. Shes appx 2 yrs old, weights about 45 to 50lbs. Shes gentle despite how timid she is and she will benefit if theres another pup at home that will help her settle in. Shes potty trained, she gets very curious in car rides and she just needs someone that will be patient and teach her as she will need time to adjust.

Story
Sweet Oatmeal is ready to find his forever home! Hes appx 1.5 yrs old, weights about 45lbs and is full grown. He is very friendly with dogs and people, loves kids! He loves going out for his walks and run around, he does well in car rides, he loves to eat but he does have a constant tick around his mouth due to distemper but luckily he pulled through. He is a dog meat truck survivor but even still he is the sweetest golden pup! He salivate a bit when he sleeps and when he sees food as he cant control his saliva due to the tick around his mouth so whoever adopts him will need to be ok with this and doesnt mind wiping his mouth and teeth a bit more often throughout the day, especially after he drinks water and eats! He's house trained and potty trained, doesnt pull much on walks but he does bark and gets excited when he sees other dogs on walks.

* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $800 Float & Smoothie: Big Paws, Bigger Hearts   Meet Float and Smoothie, two adorable members of the “Bevvie” litter — a group of Goldendoodle puppies born in a loving home to mama Sundae and dad Waffle Cone before joining rescue to find forever families of their own. Born on March 6, 2026, these sisters are now 10 weeks old and already showing off the goofy charm, affectionate personalities, and oversized paws that hint at the beautiful big dogs they’re growing into. Mom weighs about 50 lbs and dad around 65 lbs, so these girls are expected to be solid medium-to-large companions when full grown.   Like many first-generation doodles, Float and Smoothie do have shedding coats, so they are not considered non-shedding or allergy-friendly dogs.   Sweet, Social, and Full of Wiggles   These girls are the definition of happy puppies. The second they spot a person, they come racing over with wagging tails and giant puppy grins, ready for belly rubs, cuddles, and attention. They absolutely adore people and would happily spend all day outside with their humans soaking up affection and companionship.   Float and Smoothie are social butterflies who seem to love everyone they meet — people, dogs, cats, you name it. They currently live with a small Labradoodle and do wonderfully. They’re outgoing, curious, and always ready to join in on whatever is happening around them.   They’re also hilariously goofy in that lovable “growing into my body” puppy stage: oversized paws, long legs, clumsy zoomies, and endless enthusiasm. They have huge hearts to match their giant puppy feet.   Typical Big Puppy Energy   These sisters are active, playful puppies with lots of energy. They love toys, love exploring, and especially love being outdoors. Their foster says they would happily spend most of the day outside if allowed.   They currently eat three meals a day outside and spend lots of time playing in the yard. They bark a little when they can see their people leaving or when they want attention, but they settle down fairly quickly once they realize it’s time to relax.   Their Perfect Home   Float and Smoothie would thrive in homes prepared for large, active puppies who will need exercise, structure, training, and companionship as they grow.   Most of all, they want connection. These girls crave love and attention and light up when people are around. They would likely make incredible adventure buddies once older — hiking partners, family dogs, road trip companions, and yes… probably oversized lap dogs too.   Why You’ll Love Them   Float and Smoothie have that special combination of sweet and silly that makes puppyhood so fun. They’re affectionate without being shy, playful without being overly wild, and deeply people-focused. They greet every day — and every person — with pure joy.   If you’re looking for a loving, goofy, social puppy with giant paws, a giant heart, and endless potential, Float or Smoothie might just be your perfect match.May 20, 2026, 5:49 pm

All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.Adoption fee: $800 Whoopie Cushion: Parkour Zoomies & Boneless Snuggles   There are some dogs who enter a room politely and quietly. And then there’s Whoopie Cushion — lovingly known as Cush — who arrives like a one-dog celebration parade, convinced every person, dog, couch cushion, squeaky toy, and backyard deserves his full enthusiasm.   This 7-8 month old, 50 lb Doodle was surrendered to a shelter by his owner, and the shelter immediately reached out to DPS because they knew this goofy, lovable boy deserved a soft landing. Of course we said yes. Since then, Cush has been busy making volunteers laugh, charming every human he meets, and proving that life is simply more entertaining with a giant doodle puppy in it.   The Dog Who Rolls With Everything   From the moment he arrived, Cush handled every transition like a seasoned professional. New people? Great. New dogs? Excellent. New house? Amazing. He happily romped with a young Boxer, politely sniffed the Myth puppies during their photo shoot, and then lollygagged his way into foster care like he’d been doing this his whole life. He’s the definition of a dog who rolls with the punches.   The Morning Routine (Featuring Emotional Support Potty Breaks)   Cush starts his mornings around 7:30am when the teenagers wake up for school. Morning potty time is very serious business… mostly because there are PEOPLE and DOGS and THINGS HAPPENING and Cush does not want to miss any of it.   He benefits tremendously from what his foster lovingly calls an “emotional support human” sitting calmly in the yard while he remembers to actually go potty. He’s still learning, and consistency plus calm encouragement go a long way.   Once his morning responsibilities are complete, he enthusiastically supervises the kids getting ready for school. His specialties include stealing a shoe while someone is putting on the other one, requesting emergency cuddles before anyone leaves the house, and attempting dramatic escape missions out the front door to join the school run.   Velcro Work-From-Home Assistant   During the workday, Cush settles into full Velcro mode. He happily spends hours snoozing under a desk with at least one paw or body part touching his person at all times.   He adores soft squeaky toys, crinkly toys, plush toys… honestly, any toy he can rotate between every few minutes. It’s common to find the couch covered in a carefully curated collection he’s hauled out himself. He entertains himself well but always wants to remain near his humans.   At the end of the day, he greets everyone returning home with full-body excitement and another round of joyful zoomies before settling in for couch time and snuggles.   Olympic-Level Zoomies   While Cush absolutely has an off switch, his “on” mode is legendary. This boy has Olympic-level zoomies. Not normal puppy zoomies — parkour zoomies.   He launches himself off furniture, twists midair, races through the house with wild joy, and generally behaves like an oversized muppet discovering gravity for the first time. An active home that appreciates a goofy, athletic adolescent dog would be ideal for him. He’d likely excel at agility or another activity that gives both his body and brain an outlet.   He’s playful, social, and always trying to make friends, even with older dogs who may not fully appreciate his enthusiasm.   Boneless for Belly Rubs   Once the energy burns out, Cush becomes a total puddle. His foster says one of the funniest things about him is how dramatically he melts when someone finds the perfect scratch spot.   This has resulted in him sliding off couches mid-scratch, becoming wedged between furniture because he refused to interrupt the belly rubs, and fully collapsing across people in snoring dead weight while they lose all circulation in their legs   When Cush relaxes, he commits completely.   Smart, Social, & Still Learning   Cush walks nicely on a harness when walked solo and enjoys exploring the world with his people. He doesn’t bark at dogs or squirrels on walks and generally approaches life with happy curiosity.   He’s still very much a puppy, though. He chews, occasionally digs if something catches his interest, and sometimes barks when startled, when he wants to play, or when the TV is off and he catches sight of his own reflection staring back at him. (Turning the TV on solves this existential crisis immediately.)   He crates overnight beside the resident dogs and settles nicely after a little initial protest.   His Perfect Home   Cush’s ideal home will appreciate exactly who he is right now: a giant-hearted adolescent doodle with endless enthusiasm, hilarious antics, impressive athleticism, and a deep need to be involved in absolutely everything his humans are doing.   He’ll thrive with people who appreciate a goofy, high-energy puppy, can continue his potty-training routine with consistency, want a very affectionate Velcro companion, enjoy active play balanced with serious cuddle sessions, and will laugh at his antics instead of expecting instant perfection.   Cush plays hard. Cush chills hard. And life with him is never boring.May 20, 2026, 5:49 pm
