Story
Meet Six!  He came to us after spending six months on a hill after escaping the shelter where he was housed.  Two months prior, he had been relinquised by a family reporting his primary peson for his first four years of life had passed away.  He was confused, scared and took off while on a walk with a volunteer.  With no sightings for months it was assumed he was gone forever until that first call came in of a dog needing help.  Six had taken up residence in the rough terrain of a college campus hillside where he could avoid the high traffic area with cars and people, he could stay hidden and come and go without being noticed.  Once trapped and identfied as the dog assumed gone forever we planned a way to make space so his shelter days were over and his rehab could begin. Six came to us clearly having had human experiences.  He knew Sit, Shake and once feeling safe welcomed touch, affection and even liked to lean.  Unfortunately due to a lack of life exposure before his shelter expeerience, trauma from six months on his own in survival mode or a combination of both Six struggled with anything beyond a calm and controlled environment.  He has spent the last few months working on his confidence and now enjoys his outings and is on the regular list of participants for pack walks and adoption events.  He LOVES food, is eager to please (or always seeks to not do wrong) and learns quickly with a calm approach.  He still struggles with meeing new men but once sure he is safe lets them completely in.  Don't let his age fool you.  He still acts lke he's two and looks forward to every opportunity to be the center of attention, play with those around him and avoids conflict with other dogs. He is now ready to graduate to a foster or foster to adopt home where he can refresh his real life skills rather than continue in a kennel setting.  He would do best with a neutral and balanced dog.  Due to his confidence building older children would be best.  He is an extreme flight risk so someone as committed to his safety as loving. him is a must.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  No off leash activites for life in unfenced areas.  I need to stay safe.  Are you ready to help me land my forever? ##1958533##

Story
Please come to our adoption event to meet her and other of our rescued puppies, dogs, and kittens this weekend - Saturday 11/26 from 3:30 to 5:30 outside Petsmart (NOT Petco as they are located on the same street and people gets confused) Petsmart is next to Trader Joe's and Panda:) 1660 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA 92109 - Please scroll all the way down to learn more about Bonita. Bonita is about 7 to 8 months old - She has all the color of a Golden Retriever and temperament. She is also a Red nose American Pit Bull Terrier blends. Her momma is a beautiful female young dog with a wonderful temperament, but we don’t know who papa is, other than a rolling stone…! because she is a rescued kid. She has the special trait of smiling:) she wrinkles her nose and shows her smile like the cartoon Scooby-Doo :) Her momma's name is Momma Gummy Bear; she was a pup who grew on a hill and abandoned and she gave birth couple times; Bonita is from the litter of her 1st pups. Her second litter of 12 all died :( We were able to rescue Momma bear, Bonita and sister Chula. Bonita has been rescued for couple months now and has completed her wellness program of vaccinations, deworming and she has been spayed. She has also been treated with Bravecto to prevent fleas and ticks. Bonita is now ready for her forever home; she is very social, friendly, healthy, and adorable. At this point, she will need basic training. She is crate trained as well. Bonita will be perfect for an active family who has the experience of these 2 wonderful breeds who can give you many hours of enjoyment and company. We are guessing will be medium-to-larger up to 55 pounds once full grown. Bonita plays wonderfully well with small and big dogs. She may bark at dogs at the beginning but once they sniff each other she is ready to play. She is happy, silly, and affectionate. She is great with kids and will make wonderful family buddies – she will be a great companion for anyone. Please open your home and hearts to our sweet and amazing 4 leg girl:) Please contact us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofus@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!! ADOPT A RESCUED HOMELESS PET AND SAVE A LIFE!!
