Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check Me out ! Casper is a gentle and affectionate dog who experiences anxiety, requiring a knowledgeable owner who can provide the understanding and support she needs to thrive. She is more comfortable with considerate or dog savvy kids. One of her charming quirks is her habit of carrying bags of chips, which she finds soothing; she may hold onto the same bag for several days, showcasing her unique personality. Casper can be apprehensive around other dogs, so a home where she is the sole pet or where introductions are handled slowly and carefully would be ideal. She is both house-trained and kennel-trained, making her a manageable companion in any household. If you are interested, please complete the form linked below. https://amazingstraysrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5860   Her adoption fee is $495 and covers vaccinations, microchip and spay.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 25, 2025, 6:47 pm

Story
Meet Six!  He came to us after spending six months on a hill after escaping the shelter where he was housed.  Two months prior, he had been relinquised by a family reporting his primary peson for his first four years of life had passed away.  He was confused, scared and took off while on a walk with a volunteer.  With no sightings for months it was assumed he was gone forever until that first call came in of a dog needing help.  Six had taken up residence in the rough terrain of a college campus hillside where he could avoid the high traffic area with cars and people, he could stay hidden and come and go without being noticed.  Once trapped and identfied as the dog assumed gone forever we planned a way to make space so his shelter days were over and his rehab could begin. Six came to us clearly having had human experiences.  He knew Sit, Shake and once feeling safe welcomed touch, affection and even liked to lean.  Unfortunately due to a lack of life exposure before his shelter expeerience, trauma from six months on his own in survival mode or a combination of both Six struggled with anything beyond a calm and controlled environment.  He has spent the last few months working on his confidence and now enjoys his outings and is on the regular list of participants for pack walks and adoption events.  He LOVES food, is eager to please (or always seeks to not do wrong) and learns quickly with a calm approach.  He still struggles with meeing new men but once sure he is safe lets them completely in.  Don't let his age fool you.  He still acts lke he's two and looks forward to every opportunity to be the center of attention, play with those around him and avoids conflict with other dogs. He is now ready to graduate to a foster or foster to adopt home where he can refresh his real life skills rather than continue in a kennel setting.  He would do best with a neutral and balanced dog.  Due to his confidence building older children would be best.  He is an extreme flight risk so someone as committed to his safety as loving. him is a must.  Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  No off leash activites for life in unfenced areas.  I need to stay safe.  Are you ready to help me land my forever? ##1958533##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear Is Looking For A Forever Home!! A little over 3 years, Bear has patiently been waiting for his forever family to find him. He came to our rescue as an owner surrender who within the first 9 months of his life never received any formal training. No training meant no control and Bear decided he was in charge…a behavior that could’ve been avoided and that can be fixed with the right training! Bear is a high energy, sweet 4 year old golden retriever/lab mix who is crate and house trained, enjoys socializing with other dogs, and knows his basic commands like “sit” and “where’s the ball?” While we are still working on some bad manners like jumping up and resource guarding; we have determined that Bear will do best in a home with older, considerate kids as he can also be mouthy sometimes. Bad manners don’t mean bad dog; Bear is a good dog who needs an experienced owner to give him a job to do in a structured environment and who will help show him how to continue being the good boy that we know he is.  If interested in adopting Bear, please email us at labradorsandfriends@yahoo.com or fill out our online application at www.labradorsandfriends.org.  Bear is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2025, 12:19 am

Story
Charlie is 12 years old and weighs 89 lbs. He is good with other dogs and good around people. He’s friendly, calm and outgoing. Charlie has been in different homes around Ensenada. His first owner gave him away to a relative who gave him to a friend who then moved away and left Charlie alone in a rental. A neighbor started taking care of Charlie but his current dogs didn’t get along with him so he contacted us and we brought him to BAS. This sweet boy has been failed by people over and over. But now he’s in a safe place until he finds a forever home where his people will never be abandoned again. If you would like to meet this dog you can read about our adoption process and submit an application on our website at: http://www.bajaanimalsanctuary.org/dogs.htmJanuary 31, 2025, 11:43 pm
