Story
Meet Violet! This affectionate little girl is looking for an experienced and patient forever home to help her overcome her reactivity and become the best girl she can be! Due to some negative experiences when she was younger, Violet is quite reactive to other dogs on leash, and will also lunge at cars and passerby when she is out on walks. Violet is very smart and super food motivated, so we believe that with a confident guardian and consistent training she will learn to overcome her fears and improve her behaviour on leash. For the time being, however, Violet will need to live in a detached house in a quiet neighbourhood, preferably with a fenced backyard where she can get her zoomies out before heading out for a training-centered walk. At this time we will not be considering applicants that live in apartment buildings. While Violet has had good meetings with dogs off leash, we believe that while working through her leash reactivity she should go to a home without other pets or young children. In the home, Violet loves to climb into your lap for snuggles or wrap her paws around you for a nice big puppy hug! She will be a fantastic hiking or camping companion once she has made some progress with her leash manners, and this girl would love a garden where she can help dig some holes. This loving girl has endless potential, she just needs an experienced and dedicated family to help her reach it! Could you be the one Violet has been waiting for? Please come into the shelter during visiting hours if you would like to meet me. While we do welcome online applications, in person meets have top priority.cats:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Our visiting hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12-5Thursday, Public Holidays: closedSaturday, Sunday: 12-4 Primary Color: Gold Weight: 23.2 Age: 0yrs 5mths 4wks

Story
Meet Raphael!Raphael is a very sweet, gentle puppy. He is going to be a big boy when he grows up, so he is looking for a home with lots of space to roam and play. He has already started working on his manners and house training and is doing a great job, but like all puppies, he will need a guardian that is patient with continuing puppy training. Puppyhood is precious and also a lot of work, so Raphael is looking for someone ready for the commitment. Raphael's breed is a mixture of active, working dogs, so he will need a lifetime of exercise and stimulation in his future. Raphael is doing very well with his socialization and would be great in a home with other friendly dogs or children. He has been previously in a foster home with young children and gets along with them well. Due to the high volume of applications we receive for puppies, we will be prioritizing in-person applicants. For a chance to meet and adopt Raphael, please come to the West Vancouver BCSPCA Tues-Sun from 12pm-3pm daily for viewing. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 8.4 Age: 0yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Luna is an approximately 1.5-year-old golden retriever mix with a heartbreaking past, but an unyielding spirit. Luna's life began on the streets as a stray. At some point, she became a mother to a litter of puppies. Tragically, while her puppies were still very young, Luna was struck by a car, leaving her hind legs paralyzed and struggling to survive. A local resident noticed Luna dragging herself through the streets to find food for herself and her puppies. Soon after, Luna was rescued along with her puppies. However, due to limited resources, Luna eventually found her way to Baibao Rescue, where we've been committed to providing her with the care and attention she deserves. Through diligent rehabilitation in the last few months, Luna has shown impressive progress. Though her gait remains unsteady, she can now bear weight on her back legs and walk independently. While incontinence remains an issue, she has also made significant progress. She currently wears a diaper but we believe that with the right owner, she can further improve. Luna is a loving and friendly dog, despite her tragic past. Her playful curiosity brings joy to every day, as she explores her surroundings with newfound happiness. She gets along well with both cats and dogs. Luna loves to eat but kind of goes crazy over food and eats too quickly, understandable given her background but it's something prospective owners will need to keep in mind. Luna would not be suitable for a household with dogs that are food-protective. However, Luna's interest in food will make training her much easier. For Luna's forever home, we seek an experienced dog owner with the time and patience to continue her rehabilitation. An individual who works from home or is retired would be an ideal match, as Luna requires constant attention and support. Caring for a disabled dog is a responsibility, but the rewards are immeasurable as you witness her progress and thrive. If you're ready to provide the love and care Luna needs, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and affection. Let Luna's story be a testament to the resilience of animals in the face of adversity. Adopt Luna and give her the chance to experience the love and security she's deserves.
