Story
Hi there! My name is DARLA and I just arrived in BC Canada on July 7 2024!  Here is some info about me:Breed: Husky / Retriever  Age: 6 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 60 pounds - 28 kgHeight: 26 inches - 65 cm I've arrived in Canada and am so happy and excited to not have to live the rest of my life in a shelter!  I'm a really sweet and happy dog.  I get along with people and other canines, not sure about cats yet though.  Settling in with my foster family, I've shown my gentle side.  Now I'm optimistically waiting, as patiently as I can, for my adoptive family to find me and have a place to call home. In October 2021 rescuers found me roaming the hills on the outskirts of a major city.  Initially my rescuers thought I was blind because of my unique eye colour.  As a husky, my eyes are the typical light/sky blue.  After I received an examination at the shelter they so kindly brought me to, it was determined that I can see just fine!  I lived in the shelter for almost 3 years and am oh-so eager to become a part of a loving family. I know that with the right human(s), I would be an exceptional companion. I want to hang out and explore life outside of the shelter! Energy level: moderate Get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown (awaiting video proof) FEARSSo far, I am not fearful of anything. TRAINING:Leash skills – none, work in progress...House trained – no, please be prepared to help me learn!  It was hard to receive consistent training for this at the shelter.  I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1227550##

Hello. My name is MOJO (Mehraban) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Alaskan Malemute/Shepard mixAge: 3 yearsGender: MaleWeight: 30 kgHeight: 80 cmHighlight(s): LOVES KIDS!, tripaw, tolerant, loving I am quite the gentleman, as I love to be around kids.Rescued in the Middle East from a cruel attack. I don't know why, but one day a group of men attacked me and stabbed me in my right foreleg. It was in fact very painful, but I am so glad to have escaped that mean village. I finally found a place to hide and stay away from people for quite some time until some kind individuals found me. By the time I was rescued though, it was too late to recover my injured leg and as a result it had to be amputated. So now I live as a tripaw.Surprisingly, I still trust humans and let them pet me. I seem to be good with other dogs (no idea about cats.) I am not protective about my food at all and in fact enjoy eating while being around kids as they are petting me.I like to be decorated with flowers by kids! I know I look cute and photogenic!I would love to have a relaxing home with a loving family who have kids. Surely it doesn't hurt having a bit of good Mojo around the house, right? Grin. Energy Level: Moderate I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: unknownKids: A BIG YES! Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: SomeLeash skills: No. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: Tripaw. Might need some physiotherapy to improve mobility issues, but at this point it is not a main concern.I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Story
Hi. I'm Creamy. Here's a bit about me: Breed: Golden Retriever mixAge: 2 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 25 kgHeight: 55 cm Updated bio: Hi there everybody - I have made my way to Canada. I am a super kind, and very playful pup! My left arm never grew to its full size when I was a baby due to a birth defect, I am always limping, but you wouldn’t know it when you see me play. I love to play with other dogs nonstop. I am extremely friendly, but I might be shy when you first meet me. It doesn’t take me long to warm up to people though. I will be on my back asking you for belly rubs in no time. I have mostly had exposure to smaller dogs and terriers, but I also get along really well with people and bigger dogs. You just need to give me a chance. I really hope to be able to come to Canada soon, because honestly, living in a shelter and limping around all the time it’s not the most ideal situation for me. I would love to be in a more comfortable environment with loving parents that will help me thrive and be the pup I want to be and have the life I deserve. I really hope that you will end up being my person! I am just a doll! I was rescued when I was only two months old. My mother had just given birth to a litter of puppies, and I was one of them! I was born without one leg. The man who called the shelter and informed them of me was able to adopt out all of the puppies, except for me, apparently because of my deformity. I know, I was very surprised as well! It doesn’t hinder me from doing anything! I’m actually extremely playful and love to play with other dogs! There is nothing that I can’t do! Well, except for growing another leg. But I don’t need to! I get along with:Dogs: yesKids: yesCats: unknown Prey drive: not observed, adopter needs to be willing to train me should these behaviors arise. Story
G'day. My name is DORIE (Dorla) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Golden Retriever/Lab mixAge: 4 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 25 kgHeight: 55 cm Dorie is very loved by her Canadian momma, but has to be rehomed due to health reasons. Here is what she has to say about her sweet girl: If you love being greeted at the door every time you come home with a smiling, tail-wagging dog with the biggest paws on the block, then please meet Dorie. This sweet, playful Golden Retriever/Lab cross loves spending time lounging around the house and having a spot to sleep in every room. She loves playing with tennis balls and durable stuffies. Dorie is an independent girl who can keep herself entertained with toys and puzzles, but would also benefit from having a playful friend around the neighbourhood to help her socialize more.  She is smart, and understands some basic commands (sit, lay down, shake a paw.) We have been working on recall and she does well on leash. Having a strong prey drive, Dorie will chase after small animals (including cats and small dogs). So household devoid of a cat or other small animals is needed. Dorie has been friendly meeting children, but has not been with them for any extended amount of time. She does well with women and has made some dog friends around the neighbourhood. There are some days where she will bark at other dogs, as well some men, but she is able to be redirected with consistent work.  Dorie would do better in a home with a yard where she could relax. Her preference is for shorter walks, and her recall is getting better, so has been having lots more off-leash time. She hasn’t wanted to try swimming yet, but has been out on a paddle board several times. Dorie loves food, treats, and jumping into the water to play. She sleeps well through the night, and sometimes even snores after a busy day! Once Dorie gets the zoomies, prepare for the cutest dog show ever. She would do well in a home that would allow her outdoor time, but also time to relax indoors. *** Hiya guys! One time, in my home country during the middle of the night, the city officials were killing the neighborhood dogs. I did some major sneaky work and ran away from the city officials into my rescuer’s father’s yard. Lucky for me, he had left the door open to take out the trash. I ran into his yard and hid in a box until I was found by my rescuer's dad. I was so lucky to end up in his yard. The stars have aligned for me to end up in Canada with you. It was fate! I am very friendly and love to play with humans, as well as other dogs. I even have a doggy best friend! His name is Mack (also posted.) I have been told that I’m super intelligent and learn commands very quickly. I am really hoping that I will end up in Canada soon and my new life will start with you! Please consider me to be a new addition to your family! I promise to fit right in! https://youtu.be/qV4pEc476Ew. Energy level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: unknown Prey drive: High Fears: I am a bit afraid of men. However, if they sit next to me and give me treats I will learn to trust them. Hello! My name is Clancey and here is some info about me:Breed: Lab/Golden Retreiver mixAge: 3 - 1/2 yearsGender: MaleWgt: 23 kgHgt: 55 cm I am an energetic (though not hyper) pup looking for a loving home. My rescuers found me on the side of the highway after I had been hit by a truck. Those kind people brought me to a vet where it was determined that two of my legs were injured and unfortunately one had to be amputated.  Despite that, I haven't let my past slow me down. I love to run and am quite agile. I'm very good at going up stairs too, though when I go down them I'm a bit more careful! When exploring new areas it can take me some time to get comfortable. Once I know that I am somewhere safe and can get around on my three paws, I relax. I enjoy playing with toys and spending time with the people that I love. In the beginning, I need a human who is patient and will get to know me, before trying to hug and cuddle me. Although timid at first, I am smart and caring once you earn my trust. I can't wait to meet my forever family who will understand my needs and match my lively personality! New video of me, aren't I cute? https://youtu.be/4tQYLmcMlJ0. FENDIBreed: Golden Retriever/Anatolian shepherd mixAge: 3-1/2 yrsSex: Male, neuteredWeight: 45 lbsEnergy level: moderateRelations: good with dogs, good with cats, loves people of all agesHighlights: smart, loving, great kisser, submissiveRegion: Middle East I have been in Canada since 2021. I need a home outside of Nanaimo, where I can have the freedom in natire I crave. A 1 time odd incident of a dog fight caused the city to state I must be on leash and muzzled. Although this designation is being fought, as it was unfairly derived, my mama wants me to be happy. They have lots of documentation from many people (pack hike leaders, dog trainers, and parents of the dogs he plays with etc...) that I interact well with other dogs. Please help me to live the life I deserve. If you are looking for a great family dog, look no further because here I am! The name is Fendi. I have been living at the shelter with my furry brothers and sisters since I was only a few hours old. My mom died right after she gave birth to me and two of my siblings. Some really bad humans found her when she was in labour and stoned her to death! I don’t even know if she was done giving birth to all of us or not when she crossed the rainbow bridge. The nightmare didn’t end there though, those mean humans decided that killing our mom was not enough and started cutting our tails right after we were born. Honestly, I don’t remember any of it, my eyes weren’t even open, but some nice people saw what was happening and came to our rescue. I was given to a dog rescue where a kind lady took us in, she took care of us the best she could.  I am a healthy 9 month old boy now and as much as I would like to stay with my mom, its time for me to fly the nest and find my forever family so that my mom can focus on other animals in need. I'm ready to move out!  Please note, I like to be the centre of attention. I love all the pets and I love to give all the kisses. I hope you like kissing, because I do ;) lick lick. I also require many belly rubs. It is essential for my health! I am a very gentle boy who does not have a mean bone in his body. I get along with all my furry brothers and sisters and I specially love the cats that I live with. I enjoy nice people’s company and I don’t care if they are big or small. I just want to love and be loved. I'm also very smart and I cannot wait for my new family to teach me some tricks and doggo games. It’s a dangerous world out there where I live for doggies and my mom has no choice but to keep us inside the rooms where we are safe and out of harms ways. I often dream of running free in a beautiful field. I know the day will come when I can go for walks and hikes with my forever family. Maybe I will take a ball along. Once, when my mom was watching television, I saw a doggie chasing a ball over and over again. It looked like so much fun! I got so excited that I ran towards the television, hoping to jump in and join the game!! All I got, was a bump on my forehead that resembled a ball!!! Yes, yes it was silly, but a funny story right!? It would be so cool if I can have a fenced yard to call my own, but I am good anywhere as long as my family loves me and gives me the daily exercise I need to stay handsome and healthy. You know what to do, press the adopt button below! I have been neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes.
