Story
Meet Piper: Your Golden Girl!Piper is a sweet, senior Golden Retriever with a heart full of love and a playful spirit that defies her 9 years. This golden beauty is a true people-person (or dog!) and adores human interaction. She’s wonderfully gentle with kids, making her a great family companion.Piper gets along well with other dogs, especially those who are respectful of her boundaries and don’t overwhelm her with pushy behavior. She’d thrive with an older dog or a laid-back canine friend who understands her easygoing vibe. Piper isn’t a fan of cats, though, so a feline-free home would be ideal for her.One of Piper’s favorite things in the world is toys—she loves carrying one around like a treasured prize. She also has a love for water and will happily play in sprinklers or splash around like a puppy. Her zest for life and fun-filled antics are sure to bring joy to any home.Though she’s a senior, Piper has plenty of energy and years of love to give. She’s looking for a family who will cherish her and make her golden years truly special.Piper is available for local adoption, and we can arrange out-of-state transport for the right family. If you’re ready to welcome this golden ray of sunshine into your life, contact us today! ##2263845##

Story
Are you ready to play? Spice is! Spice is a bundle of joy and constant motion! She is a four month old 19 pound (still growing) Siberian husky that came to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/15 as a stray. She is cream colored and has vibrant, blue eyes. She’s jubilant, playful, and somewhat comical. She will need to be provided with toys. She can entertain herself with them by tossing them in the air and then chasing them. She will need an active family and a yard for her to expend her energy in. She doesn’t appear to know the sit command. She does jump on you to get your attention. She likes to have her ears scratched. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked okay on a leash. Huskies like to run and therefore frequently try to escape. Spice will need a high secure fence. She will also need frequent brushings. She wants to be an inside dog mostly to enjoy family time with you. She will definitely add spice to your life!

Story
Maya could win a beauty contest. She certainly deserves to be on a calendar! She is a three year-old 30 pound Alaskan husky that came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/21 as a stray. She was dropped off by a concerned citizen. She told me to tell you that I gave her a bath and she was really well behaved. She actually sat in the tub without any resistance. Now she’s proud of how clean she looks and feels. She sits for treats when she wants to. She also jumps up in anticipation. She’s highly motivated by treats. I got dizzy going around in circles trying to get photos of her as she kept following me around for a treat. She’s playful, frisky, loving, happy and well mannered. She prances along beside you on a leash. She was non-reactive to other dogs. At the end of the photo shoot I was rewarded with kisses! If you know anything about huskies you’d know they like to run. Therefore, they sometimes try to escape. Maya will need a tall secure fence. Also, she will need frequent brushings. This cutie is a diamond in the rough and won’t be at the shelter long.
