Story
Say hello to Trumpet, our beautiful golden girl! While she may start off a bit reserved, it doesn't take long for her loving nature to shine through. Trumpet is incredibly sweet and affectionate, quickly forming deep bonds with those she trusts. She's a hug enthusiast, her specialty is wrapping her paws around her favorite people in a loving embrace. Trumpet thrives on playtime, especially when it involves her doggie friends! Another bonus about sweet Trumpet is she is 100% housebroken, making her transition into your home a breeze. If you're looking for a loyal and lovable companion to brighten your days, sweet Trumpet might just be the perfect match for you! From her foster: Trumpet is a good family dog, with the potential to be great. She is a loving, caring, please-pet-me, dog. She is still a little timid, but her confidence is growing every day. She approaches dogs and people with concern, but the front-loaded fear is gone. I predict that she will always be generally cautious, but she is getting more bold (sometimes by the hour). She is primarily motivated by love and attention, but treats work great too. With two ways to motivate her, she would embrace intermediate and advanced training. When I say she has the potential to be great, she could do some more advanced skills like tricks, searches, or rally, if she is paired with a focused, consistent owner that knows how to make themselves the center of fun and love in Trumpet's world. Even if she was paired with a family with limited dog training skills, she would enjoy obedience classes, and would become a barrel of fun. For a stereotypical family, it would be a two week to one month journey for Trumpet to acclimate. For a dog whisperer, it would be about one to two weeks. If she could receive 15 minute training sessions every couple hours, for the first couple weeks, she would vault into great status. She wants to help. She wants to be involved. She doesn't have any destructive habits. She doesn't chew. She has never grabbed anything we didn't give her, with two exceptions in the first few days, where she proudly brought us dirty clothes. She's never done it since. She has learned the commands sit and down. When we first got her, there were still baby bites, but that is gone now. She is timid around bigger dogs, but finds her footing in a few minutes. She will eventually be excellent with kids, but she would need a month or so of supervised time with kids before she is set free; at present, she is still too excited and worried about the natural enthusiasm of kids, but she settles with just small, firm kindness. She is patient, and kind, and loving. You can become faster friends with her if you give love, and kindness, and treats. Trick: if you lie down on your back, she accepts that as non-threatening, and she will accept you fast. She doesn't know fetch or tug-of-war yet, but we are working to introduce those games this week (first week of Nov). In time, with a patient owner (who speaks her language), she will learn both. She does great in the car. We spent extra time making the truck a safe place for her, and she goes in and out with no problems. She is very quiet, and a good sleeper.

Story
Ree is a surprisingly quiet Husky with a sweet and loving nature—but don’t let her calm demeanor fool you! She’s an expert digger who would happily assist as your “gardening buddy” (whether you need the help or not). Ree adores hugs and considers herself a lapdog, even if the couch disagrees, and she’ll shower you with gentle kisses as her way of saying thanks for letting her rule your heart—and your yard!
