Meadow is a great dog but I travel for work. She’s part husky so she needs a lot of attention, super great with kids, most dogs if she’s introduced properly and cats I’m unsure, she grew up with one but then I got a divorce and the x took that cat, haven’t seen her around other cats but I’m sure she would be fine if introduced properly , very loving, loves to cuddle, would like to stay in contact with you regularly for the first month and then after that if you don’t mind sending me pics of her every now and then just to see how she’s doing

Story
Blanco is a very happy guy; he loves to run and play and resembles a horse, especially as his long legs give him a ground covering stride. He equally loves to snuggle and truly believes he is a lap dog. He loves to lay across your lap and squirm around like a toddler. He doesn't like to be "patted" as that seems a bit fear inducing to him, but he likes to be petted in other ways. Blanco needs an experienced owner who won’t let him get away with being pushy when he wants something. Seriously, personal boundaries are not his forte. Do we hear people say: “Duh, he is a husky!”? Consequently, he jumps on people and gets a little nippy when he first meets them or when he gets excited but he settles back down pretty quickly, at least with adults. We haven’t seen him with medium or young children but he would probably get too rambunctious with them as he jumps on big kids. Blanco enjoys playing in the backyard as long as someone is with him. If that person goes inside, he scales the 4 or so foot fence or opens the gate. Luckily, he comes running as soon as called since he isn’t trying to run off but to get back with his people. He will need a tall fence to keep him contained. He does well to sit and will play fetch. Blanco does great in a 6’ tall chain-link pen in a climate-controlled garage with Coco and rarely has accidents. He goes right in when his foster mom opens the door. Surprisingly he hasn't torn up his bed or any toys. In fact, his foster mom hasn’t seen any destructive behavior. He tolerates a bath and enjoys being brushed – and regular brushing is needed! He doesn’t resource guard, but he will push other dogs away from “his” person and can be kind of rude about it. Fireworks and loud noises don't bother him. Blanco has been good with dogs in some situations and not others. He seems okay meeting new dogs but once they start to share space and he bonds to people he is less amenable, especially if his “backup”, Coco is with him. There is a dynamic between them that can be problematic, especially when they gang up, and they will probably do best if adopted into separate homes. Skills and sociability with cats - saw the family cat through the window and didn't care. Skills and sociability with other animals - not tested. Takes to one person mostly or the whole family? So far, mostly takes to his foster mom. Leash walking - does ok. Off leash - does well. In car - does great. In public places - does ok. Responding when called – great. Barking/howling/talking - high pitched bark when he's ready to be let out or he sees another dog in his territory. Crate and kennel trained – yes. Door dashing, runs off – sometimes. Stealing food from kids/counter surfing – no. Ok in apartment? - yes, if he gets to go out enough. Blanco is approximately 1 year old as of June, 2023 and probably a Siberian husky mix. He arrived with Coqueta (Coco) from California on June 10. They were surrendered from the same household to a shelter there.
