If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application.Hi, I'm Smiley, a handsome Golden Retriever X rescued from a Salinas shelter where I was found as a stray. No one came to claim me and I was lucky enough to have many people follow through with their pledges to sponsor me so I could come into CARL's adoption program.I like toys and I'm very treat motivated. I'm smart and walk well on leash. I'm very sweet meeting people, but I'm a big boy and tend to jump up a bit so although I haven't been around children, I would probably do best in a home with older bigger children. I don't really react to other dogs and I can walk in tandem with another dog, but I can be a bit testy in playgroups at the kennel so as a safety precaution I wear a muzzle.I hope it's not long before I'm a cherished member of a loving family. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.*Thank you to all the people who are sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life.February 12, 2025, 2:52 pm

Story
Available to foster or adopt!Breed: Husky/Shepherd X DOB: 11/2018 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / charcoal Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Ruger, a handsome Husky / Shepherd X in need of a new home as sadly my owner can no longer care for me due to medical reasons and having to move to an assisted living facility. I'm grateful to CARL for accepting me into their adoption program. I know they will help me find my forever home. I enjoy being with people, going on walks or going to the dog park. I'm sweet, lovable and very active. I love to cuddle, receive belly rubs and I think I'm a lap dog. I need a home with no cats and with a fence at least 6 feet tall. I'm choosy with other dogs, so if you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I'm very food protective around other dogs, so we'd have to be fed separately. I've lived my life with a retired adult, but I am great with children and adults. I'm used to sleeping on the bed with my owner or on the sofa. Hopefully you'll allow me to do the same. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.November 7, 2024, 11:05 am

Story
Breed: Siberian Husky DOB: 12/2021 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): white / apricot Description: Hi, I'm Raya, a beautiful Siberian Husky who is in need of a new home as the dog already in the home does not want me around. I'm incredibly affectionate and loyal to my family with a lot of love to give. I'm a great companion to kids and other big dogs, but cats are a no-go.   I have shown instances where I'm not fond of small dogs, maybe because they are the size of a cat. I'm very people-oriented and will do best in a home where someone is around most of the time since I experience separation anxiety. I'm smart and very treat motivated, which should make training me a lot easier. I was working on crate training with my original owners, but I wasn't fond of it. With a little patience and positive reinforcement I know I can learn to be ok with it. I'm mostly a quiet pup who only gets vocal when left alone or cannot be near my people. If you're inside, I won't enjoy being left out in the backyard by myself or vise versa. I enjoy a good ride in the car and I'm always ready for an adventure - as long as it's with my people. I prefer sleeping with my people, so hopefully there is room for me on your bed. I walk well on leash as long as my pack stays together. If anyone gets ahead or lags behind I'll try to gather everyone back together. I'm a good-natured girl with a positive disposition, who's just looking for someone to give me and for me to give them lots of attention and love. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.February 20, 2025, 5:30 pm
