Story
Cornbread is cute and sweet! He loves people and will follow you everywhere and ask for belly rubs. He likes other dogs and is very submissive. He has ignored the cat so far. He seems really smart and he learned the dog door in one evening! He has had a couple of pee accidents in the house, but he mostly will go outside through the dog door or, if I walk him, he will always go potty outside. He has been sleeping in a crate and he will cry for about 5 minutes but then falls asleep and is quiet all night. He has had no accidents in his crate.

Story
Holly is weird one but very energetic and playful. She loves men, doesn’t like women for some reason (yes seriously.) She is a dominant female, and will get along with other dogs as long as they are not dominant. She never pees or poops in the house, and she never tears anything up. Preferably someone with a backyard should adopt her, unless you want to walk her very frequently. She sheds a lot, and her nails are long. She does not like to be groomed or go to the vet (I don’t think any dog does), but she seriously needs to be medicated or put under to do any of those things to her. She is a good dog, she just has trauma from a previous owner, she is a rescue. She was about 2 years old when rescued, she’s about 5-7 years old. This was my girlfriend’s dog but we recently parted ways and she did not want the dog back, so I really need to find a good home for her. Preferably a man with a backyard.

Story
Meet sweet Penny 💛 Penny is a 7-month-old Goldendoodle with the softest curls and an even softer heart. While she’s still just a puppy, Penny has already been through more than any dog should. Her difficult past has left her fearful and unsure at times, so she’s looking for a patient, understanding home that will help her continue learning that the world can be safe and kind. Penny absolutely LOVES other dogs and truly thrives with canine companionship, so she would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to help show her the ropes. She bonds quickly with women, but she is still very wary around men. Any male figure in the home will need to be patient, gentle, and willing to give her plenty of time and space to build trust at her own pace. Because Penny can become overstimulated during play and zoomies, and may occasionally be a little nippy when nervous or excited, she would do best in a home with older children (10+) or no children. She’s still very much a puppy and is currently in her chewing phase, so lots of toys, enrichment, and bones are a must to keep her busy and happy. Penny is learning basic training and is a bit of a stubborn girl, so patience and consistency will go a long way with her. Her absolute favorite game is fetch, and once she feels comfortable, her playful personality really shines through. She also LOVES her crate and sees it as her safe space where she can relax and decompress. She walks well on leash but can still get spooked when passing strangers, so she’ll need continued confidence-building and positive experiences as she grows. Penny is being fostered in Huntsville, AL and is only available to local adopters at this time through Friends of Rescue . If you have the patience, compassion, and loving home this special girl deserves, Penny just might become your most loyal best friend.
