Story
***A Day in the Life of Winston, the Super Dawg: Winston, here. Thought I’d share a few details about myself. I’m a 6 year old Pointer/German Wired Haired Mix. I am mostly black with white paws and a cute white patch on my chest. I am a super sweet, laid back boy. I usually get up around 7. I sleep through the night and snuck into my foster mama’s bed one night. She tried to put me back on my nice big dog bed but I snuck back when she was sleeping. I don’t take up much space so she let me stay. I go outside, but my hooman has to be with me for me to go potty. Sometimes she even has to go on the grass with me. I am a traveling pooper, leaving my presents across my fenced in back yard. I have to take two pills every morning. They are wrapped in liver sausage and put in the back of my throat so I don’t spit them out. After my eyes are cleaned, I get eye drops. We wait a bit to let the medicine kick in before being fed. I know my routine and will drink from the bottle like a champ. It usually takes 15-20 minutes for me to finish. It is best for clean up if I eat on a tile or wood floor. My day is kinda boring. I sleep on the couch. I sleep on my foster mama’s bed. I sleep on one of the two dog beds in the house. Get the idea? I go outside every couple of hours. The other dog in the house is a big boy. We love to play outside. He likes to chase balls. When he gives me a turn, I will pounce on the ball since I can’t grab it with my mouth. I also love to pounce on squeeker toys. I love to sniff the whole yard. If my foster mom has to go out, I am left in the house with Scooter (the other dog). We don’t get into much trouble unless she leaves something on the counter that smells like it should be investigated. When she comes home I jump like a baby goat does to show how happy I am. I can bark, but don’t do it often. I usually have my lunch around 1:30 ish. After a bit, I go for a walk around the neighborhood. I walk well on a leash. Sometimes I am unsure of the sights and sounds but am learning it is a safe place to explore. If it’s too cold out or there’s wet weather, I go exploring in the garage. There are lots of things to smell and explore. I have dinner around 7. I get my face washed after every meal. I get my second dose of eye drops. I usually go to bed between 10-11pm after I go outside. Most days are the same. If I have to ride in the car, I am hooked up to a seatbelt. I will lay down or look out the window. I can’t wait to meet you! Lets address the elephant in the room...You see, I have several auto immune problems, one is MMM, which has restricted my mouth to about 1 inch fully opened- it is for life ;( But my rescuers and fosters have figured out the very BEST way to feed me.... check out my video!! I also have chronic dry eye and will be on cyclosporine eye drops for life. I also get skin "funky-ness" and am on meds to prevent that as well. My rescuers absolutely ADORE me because I know nothing but LOVE and FUN! I am a GREAT DOG with a ZEST for life and playtime... I promise, you will soon forget my health issues once you meet me! The rescue can help with meds as well, ANYTHING to find me the exact right home! Love, Winston I am looking for a homebody family and I am so so so cute and happy you cannot HELP but love me!! Story
If actress Shirley Temple was reincarnated as a poodle mix, she would be Sandy. This curly haired canine is TV cute, movie cute. But she doesn't want to go to Hollywood. She wants to go home with you. Of course you want to take her home because, like Mary Poppins, Sandy is practically perfect in every way. Sandy would be a great dog for a first time owner. But she isn't picky. If you already have dogs, Sandy loves other pups and will fit right in. She might even teach them a thing or two. For instance, Sandy is already house trained, crate trained and dog door trained. She doesn't jump on people, knows how to to sit for treats and walks well on a leash, no pulling. Best yet, Sandy adores people. She might be a touch shy when she first meets someone new, but that wears of quickly. Then the ultra affection pup that is Sandy shows up. She loves hugs and pets and will put her head in your lap if you let her. Sandy will even sleep with you if you allow it. Sandy also loves kids. But unlike badly behaved children, Sandy doesn't destroy furniture or other household objects. Be warned, though, there is a notorious sock thief operating in Sandy's foster home. Sandy has tried hard to catch the perpetrator but she isn't Lassie. So the sock thief remains at large. The occasional sock aside, Sandy is basically a laid back, low energy couch potato. That doesn't mean she can't appreciate a yard, She enjoys going outside to chase squirrels or bask in the sun. You could say she is a young dog with an old soul, or you could just say she is ready for her close up. Someone is going to discover this star and take her home. It could be you. Apply now to meet this sweet superstar today! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/FBF/Dog
