He weighed 23 lbs when he got neutered recently.  History- Was a puppy in a rural shelter who wasn't reclaimed or adopted so scheduled to be euthanized. When we saw his little face that night we went to work to try and get him before the deadline of 2 pm the following day. That night we posted on FB we needed emergency transport to save his life. An amazing man who pretty much always answers our please for help said he would pay someone to drive out to get him for us. A woman who has been involved in rescue for as long as I've known her responded almost immediately she would head out first thing in the morning to go get him. Everything was falling in place but it was getting late and I had not heard back from our contact out there. I stayed up waiting and hoping for a response when I heard the ding! Yes!! She responded she would let them know first thing in the morning that he had a ride out and needed to be tagged for rescue!!! He made it back to us safe and sound and it's crazy how things work out because 2 other dogs made it out that day thanks to this little guys transport- they too were on the euthanasia list for 2 pm but thanks to another rescue, our contact, and the transporter they too were saved. So yea now he is here and just such an amazing puppy. Temperament- Very sweet, smart, and playful..  Energy Level- Very playful loves to run around - should have an active family.. Please keep in mind all puppies need time, love, training, and playtime to burn energy and be the best puppies they can be. If you are not prepared for sharp nails and teeth and a lot of training, messes, and work then please consider an adult dog who is already trained.    Dogs/Cats- Loves all the other dogs and cats     Housetrained- Crate trained and doing great in the house. Has never had an accident though whoever adopts him should continue watching him to prevent any accidents in his new home.  This sweet little boy is just the cutest most unique puppy I have ever seen!! I absolutely love him to pieces. We named him Ears at his vet appointment because he has absolutely no hair on his ears -- they are just 2 little soft velvet flaps. He has seen the vet and we did treat him as though it could be mange but the vet really thinks it is just some sort of alopecia maybe due to genetics since it doesn't smell or seem irritated or anything- it is just a lack of hair. He also had his eye looked at as you can see in some of the photos he does have a cataract. He believes it could have originally also been a genetic/health issue that was made worse possibly by the mom licking it or something. We aren't really sure what happened in his past or what kind of home he came from but we are glad we saved him and he is living his best life now. He is just such an amazing puppy he will make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a cute baby to spoil.        Adoption fee $250 includes neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need. Send us an e-mail to adopt@almosthomenm.org requesting an application to adopt this sweetie!! Animals are seen by appointment after we have an application.
