This beautiful girl is Cornelia. This precious soul was abandoned and was at death’s door when I found her. She is so sweet and smart. She’s estimated at 3-4 years old and is a Pointer mix. She is fully vetted, spayed and has finished heartworm treatment. She is house trained, loves her crate, rides well in a vehicle, and walks well on a leash. She loves all humans and other dogs. She has moderate energy level and will be wonderful for an active family. She’s currently in Louisiana being fostered. Please consider this precious soul to add some fun to your life. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: ~ 6 months (as of 3/1/25) Weight: 28 lbs (as of 2/11/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Birdie, a young, sweet soul with a playful and smart personality. She's a little shy when faced with new situations, but don't let that fool you. With a little time and patience, Birdie quickly gains confidence, especially when she's around her fellow canine friends. Her intelligence shines through in her love for games, particularly fetch, which she could play for hours on end. Birdie's sweetness and playful nature make her an ideal companion for anyone seeking a loyal friend. Despite her initial timidity, Birdie's ability to adapt and learn quickly is remarkable. She's not just looking for a home, she's looking for a lifelong companion who can offer her love, care, and lots of fun games of fetch. She is crate trained and is working on house training and walking on the leash and is making progress but still needs a little more practice. We recommend that you and Birdie sign up for some dog training classes together, ideally in the first 60 days or so of bringing her home. Group training classes are a great way to reinforce important skills, learn some new tricks, and get some quality socialization time with other furry friends. Adopt Birdie and experience the joy of unconditional love and companionship that only a pet like her can provide. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2025, 5:08 pm

Story
Meet Buck! He is about 3 years old, 51 lbs and he is likely a German Wirehaired Pointer. He is being surrendered because he is not getting along with the resident male dog. In his home, he is doing great with crate and house training and is known to pull on leash. He could go to a home with kids 10+. No cats or other dogs please! He needs a very active family and ideally a fenced in yard. Breed experience a plus. His foster says, `Buck has a huge personality! He’s extremely playful and loves the outdoors. He also loves people and makes the silliest faces that will always have you laughing. He’s extremely eager, affectionate, and just wants to make his human happy.`His MA foster says: Buck is a super sweet boy who just wants to make his human happy. He`s extremely playful, and loves the outdoors. He`s smart, and is picking up training quickly. As a very high-energy pup, he needs a very active home with people who will exercise his brain with enrichment just as much as they exercise him physically. He`s good with other dogs at home but is working on reactivity while on leash, so he will need someone excited and willing to continue his training. He`d do best with someone who`s home most of the day.`He is available for adoption with an approved adopter in Quincy by appointment. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.- Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, financial, and emotional responsibilities of a puppy/dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- Puppies/dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fee can be found at browndogcoalition.com
