Story
Candy is a 7-year-9-month old Pomeranian mix weighing 13 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Candy is a special girl who needs a special home. She's experienced trauma and neglect from humans in her past which has made her a bit nervous with men and new people. She is very submissive and will pee every time someone leans over her or she thinks she's going to be picked up. She is happiest when you are down on her level and wants to be in your lap. She LOVES playing fetch with her favorite toy, she will play endlessly, her face lights up and she just loves it! She is good on leash and is always excited and happy to be outside. Treat motivated. Good with cats. Cage/kennel aggressive, due to the amount of time she has spent in a cage/kennel she now hates it and will become aggressive when caged. She has a grade 3 luxating patella on her rear left leg, does not seem to cause pain or discomfort, or slow her down. History of UTI and crystals. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application feeCome and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
