Story
Meet Le'a, a young dog full of love and loyalty. She's the perfect blend of playful and mellow, always ready for a game or a quiet cuddle. Despite her shyness, Le'a's curiosity shines through as she explores her surroundings with gentle enthusiasm. Smart and friendly, she quickly learns new tricks and loves to please her human friends. Le'a's petite size makes her an ideal companion for any home. Adopt Le'a and discover a loyal friend who will bring joy and companionship to your life.Notes from foster:Le’a is about 2 years old and weighs around 35 lbs — a perfect medium size. She is very friendly and loves everyone she meets — men, women, and children — and she enjoys attention and affection. She also gets along well with other dogs. Because she is playful, a home with a canine playmate would be wonderful. She is intelligent, food-motivated, and very trainable. She already knows sit, down, and watch (making eye contact on cue). She walks well on a leash and is house- and crate-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.Le’a has moderate to high energy and would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys walks, hikes, and outdoor activities. At the same time, she is very affectionate and loves spending time with her people. She loves car rides and makes a wonderful travel companion. She enjoys putting her head out the window to feel the breeze and take in the scenery, but she can also relax and wait quietly in the car.Her markings are stunning, and she receives compliments everywhere she goes. A dog sitter who cared for her for a week reported that she ignored the household cat, though her long-term compatibility with cats is unknown. When she gets excited, she may jump up to greet people, but with positive training this behavior has already been improving.Le’a is a loving, joyful dog who will truly flourish in a home that can give her activity, structure, and plenty of affection. If you are interested in meeting Le'a, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm.
