Story

Meet Honey! She is an 8 month old, 70 lbs Pointer/Pittie mix. She is spayed, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped. This little girl and her 10 littermates were born to one of our momma dogs that was confiscated due to animal cruelty. They and momma (Jazzy) are finally ready to find their forever homes and families! She has been living in a foster home with her brother and sister, Oreo and Cocoa. Her name suits her well as she is super sweet. We like to call her Honey Bunny. She isn't a fan of loud noises but loves to cuddle. She can be slow to warm up to new people but loves her family so much! She plays hard with her siblings or toys then passes right out. She likes attention and pets but isn't one to be held for very long. Honey is a big fan of her chew toys and loves a good squeaky toy! Honey is kennel and house trained. She is still young and will need a family to help her finish learning all the ropes. She is good with other dogs and has been exposed to different breed and sizes. We're unsure how she is with cats. She has been around older children and would probably be okay with younger ones as she's not prone to biting or scratching when she plays. She is very food motivated which should make training go great! She loves treats and is learning her basic commands. She and her siblings do best eating separately from each other. Sweet Honey would make a great addition to any dog-loving family and we can't wait to find the one that's meant for her! Topaz aka Doby Meet our goofball with amazing ears! He weighed in at 44lb on May 22nd. Topaz loves to play but after he wears himself out he enjoys being cuddled. His talents include paw dexterity, fetching tennis balls, and sprinting. He does great in the crate when sleeping and is potty trained. We are working on leash training and its going well. Rusty is the first to try things, and check out what the noise is, but foster mom or dad helps by being nearby. His day is to play hard, then sleep. He does like to lay on the sofa by his people. Foster mom and dad think he is "so cute" and tell him ALL the time. They work with him on potty training, although it is hard to go outside in the cold, but he will go out when they say "go outside potty" to him. He likes their doggy door and uses it to go out and play with his brother and try sharing his toys with him.. He has learned how to get along with the dogs in the house. Kaya was adopted from the OKC Animal Shelter as a foster. At the time, she was described as a timid, laid back dog, which we have a lot of experience with. As she settled in, we learned that Kaya is a lot higher energy than we expected and isn’t a good fit with our current pets. She is a very sweet, obedient girl who loves to play! However, she doesn’t understand that smaller dogs and kitties can’t play as rough as her. Her ideal home would be with another dog her size and/or an active family she can join on adventures. She’s house training, crate trained and already knows sit, drop it, leave it and is learning stay. She might make a good agility dog! She’s never been around kids so I’m not sure how she’d do. She’s the perfect dog for someone, and we want to find her that home rather than taking her chances back at the shelter.

Maverick is the best of both worlds! He is a one year old dog with puppy antics, but is housebroken and crate trained! All the fun with less the work! Maverick is a constant source of fun and amusement. (See the picture of him bringing me the potted plant so I can finish my gardening.) Maverick is very smart! He loves playing indoors and out with his foster siblings. He is affectionate and loves getting praise and scratches. Maverick is trained to a doggy door and is faithful in using it. He willingly enters his crate with a treat and settles right down. He is content in his crate when you leave the house and will sleep in it all night, but he doesn't need to. He settles all night on a dog bed in his foster mom's bedroom. Maverick is neutered and up to date on all of his vaccines. He is also micro chipped. Maverick is accustomed to a fenced backyard and would really like to have the same in his new home, but if someone were active and walked Maverick and played with him, he might be fine without a fenced yard. Maverick is not an outside dog since he loves to be with his people. Don't miss out on Maverick, he really is a bright bundle of love waiting for his forever family and a home of his own.
